Patent number: 12409538Abstract: A hammer tacker comprises a housing, a staple holder, and a latch operatively connected to the staple holder. The latch comprises a pivotable press member that is movable about a pivot axis between a lock position and a release position. The pivotable press member is resiliently biased towards the lock position. An elongated body of the staple holder is biased towards a normal position and movable against such bias to a jam release position while the staple holder remains in the operative position. The elongated body has a rearward portion thereof extending in longitudinally overlapping relation with a rearward portion of the pivotable press member, such that pivotal movement of the pivotable press member towards the rearward portion of the elongated body causes the pivotable press member to be moved from the lock position to the release position.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2023Date of Patent: September 9, 2025Assignee: STANLEY BLACK & DECKER, INC.Inventors: Thomas Pelletier, Kun-Ta Wu

Patent number: 11766772Abstract: A hammer tacker includes an outer housing comprising a handle portion and a head portion, the outer housing formed from a fiber reinforced polymer material. The hammer tacker also includes an elongated staple holder carried at least partially within the outer housing, the elongated staple holder being slideable between a use position and a refill position. The outer housing having the fiber reinforced polymer material defines a channel extending through the handle portion and into the head portion, the channel configured to receive the staple holder. The staple holder is slidable along the channel of the outer housing between the use position and the refill position. The hammer tacker further includes a staple driver assembly operable to drive a staple from the staple holder into a workpiece.Type: GrantFiled: June 18, 2020Date of Patent: September 26, 2023Assignee: STANLEY BLACK & DECKER, INC.Inventors: Thomas Pelletier, Kun-Ta Wu

Patent number: 11633839Abstract: A safety device for tackers includes a safety slide slidably connected to the outlet of the tacker and the safety slide has a stop protruding from the inside thereof. The rod has one end contacts the stop and the other end of the rod has a plastic tip connected thereto. An ignition spring is connected between the plastic tip and a safety switch. A recovery spring is connected to another position of the rod to position the rod. The safety slide is slidably connected to grooves of the tacker. When the safety slide contacts against an object to be stapled, the rod is pushed by the stop and activates the ignition spring to activate the safety switch so as to reduce the impact of the rod and the safety switch.Type: GrantFiled: October 22, 2020Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Pelletier

Patent number: 10580012Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that suggests helpful articles to resolve a customer request. During operation, the system receives the customer request, wherein the customer request is associated with a product or a service used by the customer. Next, the system feeds a set of words from the customer request through a model to generate a request vector comprising numerical values representing words in the customer request. The system then compares the request vector against article vectors representing articles in a set of help center articles to determine whether the customer request matches one or more help center articles. If the customer request matches one or more help center articles, the system presents the one or more help center articles to the customer to facilitate automatically resolving the customer request.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2017Date of Patent: March 3, 2020Assignee: Zendesk, Inc.Inventors: Christopher J.
