Abstract: A therapeutic device for treating a limb of a human or a non-human animal, has an elongate, flexible panel, at least one vibrating source in the form of an electric motor driving an eccentric element to produce vibrations at a rate in a range up to 30 Hz, a battery and a control unit, all being embedded within the elongate, flexible panel, and connected together by wiring (not shown), which wiring is also embedded within the elongate, flexible panel. As the wiring is embedded within the elongate flexible panel it cannot be interfered with, in use, with the attendant advantages.

Abstract: A horse blanket allowing freer movement of a horse in use, comprising a generally rectangular piece of material with a front edge, a rear edge and two side edges. The blanket is split, from each side edge to the center line thereof, into a front section and a rear section, the front and rear sections being connected together at the center line of the blanket to define a flexible joint therebetween, about which the blanket articulates. The flexible joint extends to a position to each side of the center line. The flexible joint is positioned, in use, at a location to the rear of the horse's withers where the pommel of a saddle would be properly positioned. The articulation of the blanket about the flexible joint facilitates up and down movements, side to side movements, as well as twisting movements of the front section relative to the rear section in response to movements of the horse.

Abstract: A fabric (10) for an animal rug, having a mesh pattern of a size suitable for preventing penetration and biting by insects, has a mesh of woven fibers (11), forming rectangular spaces (12) therebetween. Each weft (13) and warp (14) is formed from a soft, inner, multifilament fiber (15) sandwiched between a pair of relatively stiffer, outer, monofilament fibers (16). The fabric (10) is strong and stable, yet soft and light, and it is also absorbent. The outer, monofilament fibers provide the stability of the mesh pattern by locking the soft, inner, multifilament fiber (15) in place. However, a certain amount of movement between the wefts and the warps is possible resulting in a fabric, which will mould around the body of the animal.

Abstract: A horse rug with a front closure for securing the rug to a horse when the opposed front edges of the rug are brought together. The point of closure is positioned, in use, not lower than the point of shoulder of the horse. The rug is provided with strips of webbing on each of its front edges respectively, which form a part of the closure. The strips of webbing define an angle of between 40° and 70° causing the front of the rug to exhibit a collar effect about the neck of the horse. The angle being adapted to accommodate at its interior the point of shoulder of the horse, such that the closure, and thereby the front of the rug, is maintained in position relative to the point of shoulder while the horse undergoes its normal movements. The horse rug is designed so as to accommodate the structure of the shoulder of the horse and thus obviates problems of rubbing and interference with the natural movement of the horse occurring with conventional horse rugs.
