  • Patent number: 11945520
Abstract: A steering system has a steering rod longitudinally displaceable in a housing and a steering motor acting on the steering rod via a ball screw drive. The steering rod has a recirculating ball thread interacting via spherical transmission elements with a transmission nut driven by the steering motor and that is rotatably mounted by a bearing arrangement with a pivot bearing having an inner ring to which a mechanism wheel is fixedly attached. The transmission nut is pivotably mounted on the mechanism wheel about a pivot axis oriented perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the steering rod, and has a curved joint section which interacts with a curved joint section of the mechanism wheel to form a pivoting bearing. In order to realize low-friction movement capability of the pivoting bearing, at least one of the joint sections has a sliding coating, and/or a lubricant is arranged between the joint sections.

An elastically deformed spring ring arranged between the joint sections provides freedom from play of the pivoting joint.

  • Patent number: 8863889
Abstract: A steering system in a vehicle comprises an electrical servo motor for generating a supporting servo torque, wherein the motor shaft of the servo motor is coupled to a motion-transmitting component of the steering system. A water protection shield enclosing the motor shaft is disposed between the motor housing of the servo motor and the motion-transmitting component.

  • Publication number: 20110254478
Abstract: A method for operating a drive unit for an electric motor, wherein the drive unit has a drive circuit for driving the electric motor and an intermediate circuit, which is connected upstream of the drive circuit, in particular having an intermediate circuit capacitor. The method includes supplying an actuating variable for driving the electric motor. The method further includes adjusting a variable input voltage and supplying the adjusted input voltage to the drive unit via the intermediate circuit. In addition, the method includes operating the drive circuit as a function of an available intermediate circuit voltage, which is dependent on the adjusted input voltage, and as a function of the actuating variable in order to drive the electric motor in accordance with the actuating variable.
