Patent number: 12597177Abstract: A method includes obtaining computer-generated content associated with a first color characteristic. The computer-generated content is associated with a first region of a physical environment. The method includes detecting a second color characteristic associated with a second region of the physical environment different from the first region of the physical environment. The method includes, while the electronic device is in a first display rendering mode including the first and second color characteristics, determining that a display rendering mode change condition is satisfied, and accordingly changing the electronic device from the first display rendering mode to a second display rendering mode. Changing to the second display rendering mode includes changing the first region from the first color characteristic to a third color characteristic, or changing the second region from the second color characteristic to a fourth color characteristic different from the third color characteristic.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2023Date of Patent: April 7, 2026Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Travis W. Patent number: 12586151Abstract: In one implementation, a method of frame rate extrapolation is performed by a device including one or more processors, non-transitory memory, a scene camera, and a display. The method includes capturing, using the scene camera, an image of a scene. The method includes displaying, on the display, the image of the scene at a first time. The method includes generating an extrapolated image by transforming, using the one or more processors, the image of the scene based on movement of the device, wherein the extrapolated image includes a first area including a first plurality of pixels having respective first pixel values based on a single depth and a second area including a second plurality of pixels having respective second pixel values based on a plurality of depths. The method includes displaying, on the display, the extrapolated image at a second time after the first time.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 2020Date of Patent: March 24, 2026Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Tobias Eble, Nitin Nandakumar, Hariprasad Puthukkootil Rajagopol, Thomas Post

Patent number: 12536748Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for implementing systems for rendering clipped versions of 3D objects in a computationally efficient manner, e.g., for use in extended reality (XR) environments. The techniques are designed to render the camera-facing faces and the non-camera-facing faces of a 3D object's mesh differently and, optionally, according to a clipping plane that intersects the 3D object's mesh. According to some implementations, a solid color fill visual treatment may be used for the non-camera-facing faces of a 3D object's mesh, which creates a visual effect giving the appearance of a solid surface corresponding to the cross-section of the 3D object as it is clipped by the clipping plane. The techniques disclosed herein address an issue wherein portions of a clipped 3D object may seem to “disappear” in the XR environment, i.e., rather than rendering as a representation of a cross-sectional view of the 3D object parallel to the clipping plane.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2023Date of Patent: January 27, 2026Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Alexander K. Liberman, Courtland M. Idstrom, Thomas Post

Patent number: 12488414Abstract: A vertical lookup table (LUT) stores first vertical scale values for a first display in a first portion and second vertical scale values for a second display in a second portion. A horizontal LUT stores horizontal scale values for the first display and the second display. A first version of visual content is generated for the first display by applying the first vertical scale values and the horizontal scale values to a first image frame that represents the visual content at a first resolution. A second version of the visual content is generated for the second display by applying the second vertical scale values and the horizontal scale values to a second image frame that represents the visual content at a second resolution.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 2023Date of Patent: December 2, 2025Assignee: APPLE INC.Inventors: Seyedkoosha Mirhosseini, Andrew B. Watson, Thomas Post, Yashas Rai Kurlethimar

Publication number: 20250363651Abstract: In one implementation, a method of scene camera retargeting is performed by a head-mounted device (HMD) including one or more processors, non-transitory memory, a scene camera, and a display. The method includes capturing, using the scene camera, an image of a scene. The method includes determining, using the one or more processors, a depth of the scene. The method further includes transforming, using the one or more processors, the image of the scene based on the depth and a difference between a point-of-view of the scene camera and a point-of-view of a user. The method further includes displaying, on the display, the transformed image.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2025Publication date: November 27, 2025Inventors: Tobias Eble, Thomas Post

Publication number: 20250194886Abstract: A cleaning appliance includes a housing, a tank, at least one cleaning roller, and a retaining mechanism. The housing includes a receiving space open in a downward direction, and each cleaning roller is mounted in the housing and rotatable about a longitudinal axis. The retaining mechanism includes a first constituent part in the form of a first number of at least one retaining element fixed on the tank, a second constituent part in the form of a second number of mating retaining elements, and a third constituent part in the form of a slide guided on the housing. In a retaining position of the slide, the mating retaining elements and the at least one retaining element are aligned with one another in pairs. A magnetic interaction forms a third number of magnetic closures. The third number corresponding to the first number. The tank is retained purely magnetically on the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2023Publication date: June 19, 2025Inventors: Stephan HETZINGER, Hans-Jorg HOPFENGART, Thomas POST, Antonio DE FILIPPO
