    Abstract: This invention relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive compositions which include an emulsion of a metal neutralized sulfonated copolymer of isoprene/sodium styrene sulfonate, wherein the neutralized sulfonated copolymer has about 5 to about 250 meq. of neutralized sulfonate groups per 100 grams of the neutralized sulfonated copolymer, and less than about 50 parts by weight of an emulsion of a preferential polar plasticizer, and less than about 300 parts by weight of an emulsion of a hydrocarbon tackifying resin of a petroleum or coal tar distillate, having about 4 to 12 carbon atoms, wherein the hydrocarbon resin is composed of aliphatic dienes and monoolefins per 100 parts by weight of the neutralized sulfonated copolymer.
