Publication number: 20240090958Abstract: A surgical system includes a surgical instrument that is sensitive to backlash that would adversely affect the transmission of controlled torque and position to the surgical instrument. The surgical instrument is coupled to motors in a surgical instrument manipulator assembly via a mechanical interface. The combination of the mechanical interface and surgical instrument manipulator assembly have low backlash, e.g., less than 0.7 degrees. The backlash is controlled in the surgical instrument manipulator assembly. From the drive output disk in the surgical instrument manipulator assembly to the driven disk of the surgical instrument, the mechanical interface has zero backlash for torque levels used in surgical procedures.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 7, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Applicant: Intuitive Surgical Operations, Inc.Inventors: Thomas G. Patent number: 9259099Abstract: A mattress comprising a foam base, a foam core, and a foam comfort layer. The foam core may be reinforced with firmer transverse members selectively placed along the length of the core. The core may also include air passages. The comfort layer may comprise interlocking upper and lower layers configured to form ventilation channels that operate in a bellows-like fashion moving moist, warm out and drawing fresh air in as the sleeping body moves and shifts through the sleep cycle. The ventilation channels in the core and the comfort layer provide for effective dissipation of heat and moisture even from the innermost regions of the mattress. A cooling gel top layer may be included, and the entire assembly may be covered with a fabric top panel and surround. Patent number: 7140767Abstract: A temperature sensor circuit and system providing accurate readings using a temperature diode whose ideality factor may fall within a determined range. In one set of embodiments a change in diode junction voltage (?VBE) proportional to the temperature of the diode is captured and provided to an ADC, which may perform required signal conditioning functions on ?VBE, and provide a numeric value output corresponding to the temperature of the diode. Errors in the measured temperature that might result from using diodes with ideality factors that differ from an expected ideality factor may be eliminated by programming the system to account for differing ideality factors. The gain of the temperature sensor may be matched to the ideality factor of the temperature diode by using an accurate, highly temperature stable reference voltage of the ADC to set the gain of the temperature measurement system.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 2004Date of Patent: November 28, 2006Assignee: Standard Microsystems CorporationInventors: Scott C. Publication number: 20020107761Abstract: Methods and associated systems for multi-layered channel marketing catalog generation and maintenance. A plurality of hierarchically related product/service catalogs are maintained so as to maintain commonality with regard to information contained in the catalogs and to permit customization at each layer. Information from a plurality of manufacturer catalogs are provided and integrated into a single master industry catalog Channel marketing partners of the several manufacturers extract information from the industry catalog for the particular manufacturers with whom they have established marketing agreements. The extracted information is then presented as a channel partner catalog to customers/users of the channel partner. Resellers having established relationships with one or more channel partners extract information from the channel partners' catalogs to create a reseller's catalog.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2000Publication date: August 8, 2002Inventors: Donald Kark, Eddie D. Patent number: 4945259Abstract: A circuit for producing a reference voltage includes an NPN transistor having its emitter connected to a first terminal, its collector connected to a second terminal, a PNP transistor having its emitter connected to the second terminal, its base connected to the base of the NPN transistor, and having its collector connected to the second terminal. A current source is connected to either the first terminal or the second terminal to force a current which is divided into a current through the PNP transistor and another current through the NPN transistor. The circuit produces a reference voltage equal to the sum of the PNP V.sub.BE voltage and the NPN V.sub.BE voltage. The reference voltage tracks precisely with variations in saturation currents of the PNP transistor and the NPN transistor. The circuit is useful in producing a two V.sub.BE bias voltage between the base of an NPN pullup transistor and a PNP pulldown transistor having a common emitter connection to an output terminal.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 1988Date of Patent: July 31, 1990Assignee: Burr-Brown CorporationInventor: Thomas R. Patent number: 4763107Abstract: A 12 bit, 10 megahertz subranging analog-to-digital converter produces a sampled analog input signal. The sampled analog signal is converted by an MSB flash encoder to a 7 bit MSB word that is converted to an analog signal by a 7 bit DAC having 14 bit accuracy. The result is subtracted from the sample analog signal to produce a residue signal by means of a high speed amplifier having first and second multiplexed differential input stages, the first input stage having differential inputs receiving the sampled analog input signal and the analog signal produced by the 7 bit DAC. The second differential input stage has one input connected to ground and the other input resistively coupled to the output of the high speed amplifier. The output of the high speed amplifier is resistively coupled to the second input of the first and second differential stages. The multiplexed input high speed amplifier produces an intermediate input level until the output of the DAC is stable.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1987Date of Patent: August 9, 1988Assignee: Burr-Brown CorporationInventors: Myron J.
