  • Patent number: 5607726
Abstract: Composite coatings are provided having a variable thickness and a coloration gradient in the cross-web direction using shims to direct flow in a premetered extrusion extrusion process and an edge band is used to provide stability to the bead. Further stability is provided by a vacuum gradient matched to the specific shim design used. The composite coatings are useful in preparing laminated structures such as automobile windshields with a gradient band.

  • Patent number: 5555509
Abstract: A device for reading and transmitting control parameter selections to a control system for an HVAC system is disclosed. The device is activated by the control system which receives the encoded control parameter selections. The activation is preferably accomplished by switching a power supply on and off that is associated with the reading and transmitting device.

  • Patent number: 5487939
Abstract: A solvent-free transfer process for providing a uniformly colored interlayer sheeting having a roughened or embossed surface wherein a composite coating consisting of a layer containing finely divided solid crystalline pigment particles dispersed in a resin binder and at least one non-pigmented layer is transferred from a carrier film to the sheeting is disclosed. Transfer of the coating is accomplished while maintaining the pigment particles in the solid crystalline phase and maintaining the roughened surface of the sheeting.

  • Patent number: 5317906
Abstract: System and process are disclosed for selecting a range or configuration of refrigerants that may thereafter be used by a refrigerant recovery system in the recovery of one or more of the refrigerants. The recovery of refrigerants may occur at anytime after a range has been selected including a time during which the refrigerant recovery system has been switched off and back on again.

  • Patent number: 5257506
Abstract: A defrost cycle for a heat pump system which optimizes the efficiency of the heat pump by initiating defrost depending upon the relationship of both the outdoor coil ambient temperature and the outdoor coil refrigerant temperature with a predetermined temperature reference level.

  • Patent number: 5240178
Abstract: A space temperature control which prevents overshoot and undershoot of a desired space temperature by adjusting a subsequent sensed space temperature as a function of a previous sensed maximum space temperature to deenergize a space conditioning device at the adjusted temperature to maintain the desired space temperature.
