  • Patent number: 9678973
Abstract: According to at least one embodiment, a data storage system is provided. The data storage system includes memory, at least one processor in data communication with the memory, and a deduplication director component executable by the at least one processor. The deduplication director component is configured to receive data for storage on the data storage system, analyze the data to determine whether the data is suitable for at least one of summary-based deduplication, content-based deduplication, and no deduplication, and store, in a common object store, at least one of the data and a reference to duplicate data stored in the common object store.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5727205
Abstract: The present invention is a file installation system for sequentially displaying bitmap images on an end-user's system during file installation by sequentially retrieving computer files from a computer-usable medium and installing or displaying files stored on a distribution media disk to an end-user's system. The system includes an input for inputting an install command, a disk drive for retrieving a setup file from the distribution media disk in response to the input install command, a memory for storing the retrieved setup file, and a processor for retrieving the setup file from memory and executing the setup file.

  • Patent number: 5671420
Abstract: A method of distributing files onto a computer-usable storage medium based on a user's selection of at least one file from a file library comprising executable and nonexecutable files. The method includes a first displaying step for displaying (1) the file library and (2) at least one file storage designation area having a predetermined size which is representative of a computer-usable storage medium having the predetermined size. A second displaying step displays, in response to a user's input, which includes selection of at least one file in the file library, a file attribute option, which includes file installation options, and an assigning step assigns, in response to a user's selection of at least one file installation option, at least one file attribute to a selected file which corresponds to the at least one file installation option.
