  • Patent number: 5918809
Abstract: The invention is an apparatus for producing fountain displays which include moving variable-play fountain sprays and comprises one or more nozzles with dual entry or multi-entry ports which are mounted on one or more moveable floats and are connectable to a source of pressurized liquid through a control apparatus which includes an alternating valve and valve system for producing oscillating, stationary and intermittent nozzle dispersal streams. The moveable floats can be controlled to move by mechanically means or hydraulically by the thrust of one or more nozzle dispersal streams from an underwater nozzle or nozzles mounted below the waterline to thereby provide for complex movements of the various nozzle dispersal streams included in a particular fountain display.

  • Patent number: 5524822
Abstract: Fountain apparatus in which a valve (40B) in the liquid circulating system of a fountain is adapted to control liquid flow to one or more nozzles (73, 74) to effect movement and interaction of the streams dispersed therefrom to produce fountain displays. The valve includes a valve body having two or more outlets (71A, 71B, 72A, 72B), each connected by a conduit (71C, 71D, 71E, 71F) to deliver liquid to one or more single entry or multiple entry nozzles (73, 74), and a hollow valve element (46A) provided with two or more lateral openings (67-69) and an inlet port (66) connected to receive the circulating fountain liquid for transmission through said lateral openings. Reversible drive motors (56, 65) in drive connection with the valve element are adapted to impart linear axial movement and reversible axial rotation of the valve element to periodically position the valve element lateral openings in communication with the valve outlets to control the distribution of liquid to the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 5176554
Abstract: A buoyant aquatic recliner device (10) comprised of a plurality of body supporting sections (11,12,13) flexibly interconnected and adapted to support a person reclined thereon. One body supporting section (11) supports the torso of the reclined person, a second section (12) supports the thighs and a third section (13) supports the lower legs. Each body supporting section comprises a pair of linear side members (21-26) of substantially equal length interconnected by pliant spacer members (30) which maintain the paired side members substantially parallel and in symmetrical relation about the longitudinal axis of the device. At least one flotation member (60) is affixed to each side member of the body supporting sections and is adjustably positioning thereon along the length of the side member to adjust the relative angles of inclination of adjoining body supporting sections to achieve a preferred body position.

  • Patent number: 5088723
Abstract: An inflatable aquatic device suitable for supporting a person in reclined position thereon when inflated. The device comprises at least one pair of elongated inflatable tubular members 61, 62 of substantially equal length and configuration which are interconnected by pliant spacer members 63 for maintaining the inflatable tubular members in spaced relationship, substantially symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the device, and for providing, with said inflatable tubular member, a support wherein the person's body is supported with a substantially minimal areal contact with the spacer members. The aquatic device is comprised of sections which are flexible connected at their adjoining ends and adapted to support the lower legs, thighs, and torso of the person reclined thereon.

  • Patent number: 5016618
Abstract: Method and apparatus are provided for employing intermittently pulsating or arcuately moving pressured streams of water for massage purposes. A pallet-like structure and the like is provided with a relatively thin sheet-like material on its topside, and a plurality of conduits and nozzles are disposed below to direct pulsating or arcuately oscillating jets of water upwardly against the underside of the sheet-like material.

  • Patent number: 4177927
Abstract: Apparatus is provided for use in a residential shower stall and the like, wherein one or more sets of projected fluid streams are collided against the human body in dispersals having preselected shapes and movement or location functionally related to the height of the occupant in order to scour and cleanse the body of the bather. In an alternate embodiment, a system operating from city water pressure alone provides for a flip-flop spray pattern from a plurality of nozzles releasably attached to various points on the wall of the shower stall or the like.
