Patent number: 10818388Abstract: The invention relates to the administration of prescription drug formulary information. A list of drugs that a particular prescription drug plan will pay for in whole or in part is called a formulary. The invention involves the use of information and customizable rules associated with formularies, combined with information from patient medical records, to generate custom, dynamic formularies applicable to specific patients, groups of patients, or both. Depending on the choice of rules and the other information, this may help payers control prescription drug costs by encouraging the use of less-expensive drugs when medically appropriate, but without impairing the freedom of prescribers to prescribe specific drugs according to their professional judgments. Some embodiments may also be adapted to generate and store data about the use and functioning of the embodiments or aspects of them and to generate reports containing some or all such data in response to queries.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2018Date of Patent: October 27, 2020Assignee: QUEST DIAGNOSTICS INVESTMENTS INCORPORATEDInventors: Richard A. Mahoney, Thomas R. Wagner

Patent number: 5345091Abstract: A barcode identification system is shown that includes a user operable personal computer for creating print jobs. The personal computer is coupled to a number of printers for printing the data for a job in a selected format on a record member such as a tag, label or the like. The system employs modular software. During the initialization of each of the software modules, the system determines whether the module includes a key identification that matches a system key and if not, the operation of the software module is limited to a demonstration mode if that mode is allowable. A data entry routine aids the user entering valid data for a selected format. In response to a print command, the data entered by the user is combined with the selected format to form a job. The job is then sent to a spooler which distributes the job to one of the barcode printers of the system.Type: GrantFiled: April 8, 1993Date of Patent: September 6, 1994Inventors: Gina M. Craig, Dale E. Lamprecht, Jr., Debra A. Stellwag, Thomas R. Wagner

Patent number: 4808218Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming essentially contaminant free metal powders of varying particle diameter by utilizing a separate gas percolation chamber for admitting a separate clean variable pressure percolating gas into a molten metal passing through a transfer tube, forming a metal froth which is sprayed into a reduced pressure collection chamber. The metal froth then disintegrates providing a finely divided powder which is cooled in the suspension state and collected. By utilizing a separate percolation chamber for independently pressurizing the metal froth, impurities are reduced and froth characteristics are controllably modifyable thereby providing essentially contaminant free metal powder of varying particle diameter. In addition, pressure equalization means are disclosed for overcoming pressure imbalances on start-up.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1987Date of Patent: February 28, 1989Assignee: United Technologies CorporationInventors: Thomas R. Wagner, Joseph Wentzell, Wayne Hosey

Patent number: 4576778Abstract: The invention comprises a core barrel plug capable of being remotely installed in a port of a core barrel of a pressurized water nuclear reactor for converting the reactor from a by-pass downflow configuration to a by-pass upflow configuration. The plug comprises a body having an expandable cylindrical portion with a movable mandrel disposed in the body. Remote fluid pressurization causes the mandrel to be advanced thus expanding the body into contact with the port. The plug also comprises a locking mechanism to prevent inadvertent release of the plug and a venting mechanism to prevent inadvertent overpressurization of the plug.Type: GrantFiled: August 17, 1983Date of Patent: March 18, 1986Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Herbert E. Ferree, Thomas R. Wagner

Patent number: 4577127Abstract: An improved electric actuator is provided, having in association therewith a resolver. The actuator includes a stationary and a rotatable housing, and an electric motor within it. The electric motor drives the rotary housing through a speed reducing harmonic drive mechanism. The actuator has an opening in the rotary housing, and a cavity inwardly of the opening having a mating anchoring element connected with the stationary housing. A modular resolver is provided, of a shape and size to have a major portion of it occupy the cavity provided in the actuator, and having a mating part for engaging the mating part of the stationary housing, upon assemblage of the resolver to the actuator. A rotatable part of the resolver is secured to the rotary housing. A heat dissipation system is provided, including a fan mounted on a rotary member of the actuator and a closed circuit for the passage of air between the fan and a heat conductive plate forming a part of the stationary housing.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1983Date of Patent: March 18, 1986Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: Herbert E. Ferree, Thomas R. Wagner, Michael D. Hecht, Thomas J. Donnelly

Patent number: 4571089Abstract: A machine for simultaneously blending and degassing powders under vacuum is comprised of a rotatable blender shell having a heated housing projecting into the interior, coaxial with the axis of rotation of the shell. Powder is heated to a relatively high temperature when it contacts the heater, while the shell remains comparatively cooler.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 1984Date of Patent: February 18, 1986Assignee: United Technologies CorporationInventors: Edward B. Gudlauski, Thomas R. Wagner

Patent number: 4518837Abstract: A switch especially useful for interrupting high frequency induction heating currents is comprised of mating conical shaped contacts. The contact parts of the switch are water cooled by internal cooling channels which are not affected by making or breaking of the switch. The opposing contacts are mounted on separable pieces of the switch; when the clamp is released one side of the switch can be freely separated from the first part. Thus, inflexible high power electrical connections can be made and boken in a vacuum environment through physical movement of the coil and load.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1983Date of Patent: May 21, 1985Assignee: United Technologies CorporationInventor: Thomas R. Patent number: 4398110Abstract: The electric actuator comprises a deep cup harmonic drive gear train member with an electric motor, brake, tachometer, and resolver disposed therein. The arrangement and coupling of the components provides a high torque-to-weight ratio actuator that is capable of more than 360.degree. rotation.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 1982Date of Patent: August 9, 1983Assignee: Westinghouse Electric Corp.Inventors: David E. Flinchbaugh, Raymond R. Hill, Robert Shaffer, Thomas R. Wagner
