Patent number: 12127074Abstract: In some implementations, a first computing device can send notifications at times that the first computing device is not in an expected location. A user of a second computing device can remotely configure an expected location for the first computing device, which may be a particular location for a certain period of time. During that time, the first computing device can monitor its own location and check whether it is within the expected location. If the first computing device unexpectedly leaves or fails to enter the expected location, the first computing device may transmit a notification to the second computing device. Similarly, if the first computing device loses connectivity with other devices, a server device may notify the second computing device that the location of the first computing device cannot be determined.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 2022Date of Patent: October 22, 2024Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Andreas E. Patent number: 8813025Abstract: Systems and methods for objective Deployment Failure risk assessments are provided, which may include fault trees. Systems and methods for the analysis of fault trees are provided as well. The risk assessments system may involve the development of a fault tree, assigning initial values and weights to the events within that fault tree, and the subsequent revision of those values and weights in an iterative fashion, including comparison to historical data. The systems for analysis may involve the assignment of well-ordered values to some events in a fault tree, and then the combination those values through the application of specialized, defined gates. The system may further involve the revision of specific gates by comparison to historical or empirical data.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2009Date of Patent: August 19, 2014Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Claudia P. Patent number: 8726272Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide for updating an application such as an authoring tool for defining one or more customized configurations of a software package. According to one embodiment, a base package including the application and information defining a base configuration for the application can be received and installed. Instructions to create a custom configuration of the application can be received and information defining the custom configuration can be saved separate from the application and the base configuration. An update package including an update to the authoring tool can be received and installed. The information defining the custom configuration can be read and compared to the update to the authoring tool to determine whether the update affects the custom configuration. If the update to the authoring tool affects the custom configuration, elements of the custom configuration that are found to be affected can be reported.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2009Date of Patent: May 13, 2014Assignee: Oracle International CorporationInventors: Thomas R.
