  • Publication number: 20240084204
Abstract: An improved process for making a bright stock base oil from a base oil feedstream comprising an atmospheric resid feedstock, and, optionally, a base oil feedstock, via hydroprocessing. The process generally involves subjecting a base oil feedstream comprising the atmospheric resid to hydrocracking and dewaxing steps, and optionally to hydrofinishing, to produce base oil product(s) including a bright stock grade base oil product having a viscosity of at least about 22 cSt at 100° C. The invention is useful to make heavy grade base oil products such as bright stock, as well as Group II and/or Group III/III+ base oils.

  • Publication number: 20230351024
Abstract: System and computer-implemented method for scanning software-defined data centers (SDDCs) for vulnerabilities uses at least one vulnerability detector listed on vulnerability scan definitions for the vulnerabilities to scan at least one component in each of target SDDCs. Each of the vulnerability scan definitions specifies at least one triggering condition for determining a specific vulnerability using the at least one vulnerability detector. An alert is then generated for each vulnerability found in the target SDDCs so that a remediation is performed to resolve that vulnerability.

  • Publication number: 20220331156
Abstract: Implant delivery devices, methods of device assembly and methods of using those devices are presented where the delivery device uses an automatic implant delivery mechanism that eliminates variability in pusher wire speeds by providing a needle assembly having one or more implants positioned within a proximal end of a needle cannula, a dampener assembly and a shuttle assembly located within a housing along with the activation member which holds the shuttle assembly in cocked or pre-tensioned state. A lock can be engaged with the activation member to prevent premature firing or triggering of the device.

  • Publication number: 20220325192
Abstract: An improved process for making a base oil and for improving base oil yields by combining an atmospheric resid feedstock with a base oil feedstock and forming a base oil product via hydroprocessing. The process generally involves subjecting a base oil feedstream comprising the atmospheric resid to hydrocracking and dewaxing steps, and optionally to hydrofinishing, to produce a light and heavy grade base oil product. A process is also disclosed for making a base oil having a viscosity index of 120 or greater from a base oil feedstock having a viscosity index of about 100 or greater that includes a narrow cut-point range vacuum gas oil. The invention is useful to make Group II and/or Group III/III+ base oils, and, in particular, to increase the yield of a heavy base oil product relative to a light base oil product produced in the process.

  • Patent number: 10940247
Abstract: A surgical collection assembly for filtering material from liquid obtained during surgery. A jar having an inlet and an outlet each adapted for connection to a suction line. A set of orientation features to position an upper portion of a collection basket within the jar such that an upper portion of the collection basket does not impede a flow of material entering the jar through the inlet. A bottom surface with a pattern of recessed paths in the bottom surface, the pattern of recessed paths connected to the outlet. A plunger assembly that may be reversibly attached to the jar so that a distal end of a plunger may be used to compress collected material within the collection basket to help remove fluid from the collected material. For certain uses, the surgical collection assembly may have a simple jar lid without an integrated plunger.

  • Patent number: 10646796
Abstract: The present invention includes iterations of devices for absorbing water and hydrocarbons that accumulate in hydrocarbon handling and dispensing systems, fuel tanks, sumps, and other oil and hydrocarbon storage tanks, at gas stations and other locations such as ports, commercial trucking facilities, government installations, military bases, privately owned and commercial shipping vessels, and privately maintained fueling locations including trucking facilities, etc. Specialized versions of the devices can also clean up petroleum slicks on water surfaces—known as “sheen” or petroleum-contaminated water (PCW”), and other contaminants. The present invention can stop “phase separation”. Once they have absorbed water, most versions of the device can also be disposed of easily and economically compared to alternative disposal methods due to their extremely light weight and because they can be dehydrated before disposal.

  • Publication number: 20190177941
Abstract: The invention includes a defense against flooding, with a flexible, outer shell, with absorption holes, and, inside the outer shell, one or more water-absorbing components that expand when absorbing water. The outer shell can be hydrophobic. The water-absorbing components can be compressed wood pellets. Also inside the outer shell can be a hydrophobic, but oleophilic, inner component that absorbs hydrocarbon molecules penetrating through the absorption holes. The water-absorbing components do not absorb hydrocarbons in some embodiments, In other embodiments other components mat be added that target and absorb other substances. In the first embodiment, the compressed wood pellets can be discarded easily after they have absorbed water and been expanded. In the first embodiment, the hydrophobic outer shell and oleophilic inner component are both made of polypropylene.

  • Patent number: 10034627
Abstract: Lancet assemblies for puncturing the skin and creating an incision. Upon activation, the disclosed assemblies are configured to move through a firing sequence in which a puncturing instrument extends through an aperture in the device and then is retracted back into a housing of the device and cannot be re-fired. The assemblies are designed so that the aperture in contact with the incision site does not move relative to the incision site during the firing sequence. Accordingly, the tolerance of the assembly is reduced and the reliability of the incisions created by the assembly, including the depth and width of such incisions, is increased.

  • Patent number: 10019430
Abstract: The invention comprises a system and method for storing consumers' data and automatically filling out forms by sending this information to merchants, allowing users to complete forms and exchange information much faster than could be done by hand. The invention includes an online repository of personal information, and a method to provide easily accessible, secure, sharable data. The invention includes a central repository for forms data, through which merchants can build their own applications, interact with other users, and avoid the inconvenience of filling out forms. The invention will only release the data, to a merchant, that is needed to complete a specific form. A user can send and receive form-related data during different transactions. Consumers will create and maintain a web-based Online Profile (OP) with data that merchants can access, after authentication, via a device with web access. The invention reduces identity theft, via a record of all a consumer's transactions.
