  • Patent number: 11979070
Abstract: An insulation system and method are disclosed for insulating formed coils of electrical machines, such as motors and generators. The system includes strand/turn insulation that may include one or more layers of different materials, depending upon the dielectric requirements. A ground wall insulation is applied over the group of turns. The coil may be sized in a slot cell section. Additional insulation layers are provided, including a slot corona suppression insulation that extends just beyond stator slots, a voltage grading layer, and an armor layer. The resulting system is highly adaptable to different machine designs and ratings, and affords superior resistance to degradation.

  • Publication number: 20240041441
Abstract: Devices and methods for performing a skin biopsy are discussed herein. The skin biopsy device provides for consistent depth and shape, such as by reducing or eliminating operator error or inter-operator variability by generating the same forces across multiple uses. The skin biopsy device can also eliminate puckering of wound closures by incorporating a fusiform blade (e.g., elliptical blade or a diamond-shaped blade). The skin biopsy device includes a casing, a firing pin, a retaining rod, and a blade. The retaining rod holds the blade or can attach to a punch biopsy. The firing pin generates and impacts the retaining rod with a force necessary to drive the blade a given depth into a target tissue to obtain a biological sample.

  • Patent number: 10747916
Abstract: A method for generating semiconductor device model parameters includes receiving semiconductor device performance data of statistical instances of semiconductor devices, for a plurality of coordinates in a process space with dimensions of process-dependent device parameters Model parameters are extracted to produce individual model instances, each corresponding to the respective statistical instances for the coordinates in the process space. Statistics of the extracted model parameters are modeled by processing the individual model instances to determine, for each coordinate in the process space, moments describing non-normal marginal distributions of the extracted model parameters and correlations between the extracted model parameters. Semiconductor device model parameters are generated for use in simulating a circuit using the determined moments and the determined correlations, for a selected coordinate in the process space.

  • Patent number: 10385301
Abstract: A method of reconstituting a powdered cell culture media includes providing a mixing apparatus and providing a powdered cell culture media to the fluid chamber of the mixing apparatus, prior to introducing fluid to the chamber. The method further includes introducing fluid to the chamber through an influent port, wherein the influent port is tangentially oriented relative to an inner wall of the fluid chamber to thereby cause the fluid to follow the wall of the fluid chamber in a circular motion, creating a vortex flow in the fluid chamber by introducing fluid at a sufficient flow rate, and enhancing the vortex flow with a geometric fluid flow aid by further channeling the water around the wall of the fluid chamber, around the geometric flow aid. The method further includes continuing to introduce fluid to the chamber and collecting reconstituted fluid that exits the chamber through the effluent port.

  • Publication number: 20190236120
Abstract: At present, a vast number of technologies are designed specifically for users that are able to employ the use of sight. Additionally, many products designed to allow the visually impaired to use these technologies are expensive, and often not easy to use. In order to expand the benefits of technology to the visually impaired, we have invented an Electronic Braille Interface that can connect to any device with a USB port (laptops, cell phones, e-readers, etc.) and effectively translate ASCII characters from the device into physical Braille characters. The Braille text will be displayed on the Electronic Braille Interface though moveable pins that, in groups of six, are able to display different Braille characters in the same fashion as normal, stationary Braille text. The user will be able to feel the pins and interpret the Braille characters.
