  • Patent number: 12698890
Abstract: A modular, portable task lighting system and method provide adjustable, glare-free illumination for tasks such as reading sheet music on a piano or working at a desk. The system includes an interchangeable base supporting a vertical post, to which a horizontal cantilevered arm is adjustably clamped for height and rotational positioning. A slidable carriage moves laterally along the arm without vertical sag, coupled to a multi-axis linkage featuring a vertical pivot, secondary articulation joint, and ball-and-socket interface for omnidirectional aiming in three planes. A low-profile light plank, detachably mounted via a quick-connect plate, houses an LED illuminating device with adjustable color temperatures (warm, cool, cold) and brightness, plus motion-detection capability. The upper assembly detaches from the base for folding, reconfiguration, or standalone use of the light plank.
