  • Publication number: 20210186999
Abstract: A method of treating cancer is provided wherein the method comprises inhibiting or reducing sialylation of specifically Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs) to inhibit MSC immunosuppression and restore T cell proliferation in cancer. The method may comprise administering a sialyltransferase inhibitor (e.g. 3Fax-Peracetyl Neu5Ac) or sialidase. Also described is administration of MSCs which have been manipulated prior to administration to remove sialic acids and use of a small molecule or blocking antibody which blocks interactions between MSC-sialic acid and lectins, such as Siglec 7, and/or blocks interactions between MSC-lectins and sialic acid.

  • Patent number: 9797665
Abstract: A heat exchanger includes a stack of plates which form ducts. Each of the plates can have at least two openings which, in the plate stack, form at least one collecting duct and one distributor duct which connect the ducts in terms of flow. A base plate can be arranged on the plate stack and can have a seal for sealing off the heat exchanger and a flow deflector for manipulating flow through the heat exchanger. The seal and the flow deflector can form a common component.

  • Patent number: 9746165
Abstract: The invention is illumination gear that has a strap pad slidably mounted on a strap. A battery-operated lamp is mounted on the strap pad. The strap pad with lamp may be adjusted anywhere along the strap, so as to adjust the position of the lamp to a desired height. The illumination gear may be constructed as a harness, as a vest, or as a set of suspenders. Anchor straps may be provided on the vest or the harness, to secure the straps to belt loops on a trouser waistband or to another garment, to prevent the illumination gear from riding up or shifting position.

  • Patent number: 8626717
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for reorganizing a source index tree of a database table resulting in a target index tree of the database table is provided. A backup process reads source leaf pages of the source index tree in a logical order defined by a sequence of index keys. The logical order can be different from a physical order of the source leaf pages defined by a sequence of respective storage locations. The backup process constructs target leaf pages of the target index tree maintaining the logical order. A restore process constructs target non-leaf pages of the target index tree based on the distribution of the index keys among the constructed leaf pages and stores the target leaf and non-leaf pages.

  • Patent number: 8424984
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for releasably coupling a drawer to a rail, which can be pulled out in a longitudinal direction, of a drawer pull-out guide. The apparatus has a holding part which interacts with a mating holding part in the coupled state in order to establish the releasable connection. At least that region of the holding part which comes into contact with the mating holding part is made flexible, preferably by attaching a flexible piece of material, so that any longitudinal play of the drawer which may occur in relation to the rail can be compensated.

  • Publication number: 20120139924
Abstract: The dynamic adaption of animation timeframes includes selecting animations to be displayed on a graphical user interface (GUI) and aligning the selected animations in a queue. An overall duration of time needed to display the selected animations in the queue is determined based on timeframes associated with the selected animations in the queue. The overall duration of time is compared with a predefined time value. If the overall duration of time is greater than the predefined time, a timeframe associated with at least one of the selected animations in the queue is reduced until the overall duration of time is less than or equal to the predefined time value. Each of the selected animations in the queue are sequentially displayed on the GUI for an amount of time that is based on the timeframes associated with the selected animations in the queue.

  • Patent number: 8055646
Abstract: A method and system for preventing redundant indexes in a database management system (DBMS). A received create-index command specifies a new index to be created for retrieving data from a table created by the DBMS and a redundancy check to be performed for the new index in conjunction with an action parameter in the create-index command. If the action parameter includes a REPORT value, each redundant index is stored and/or displayed and the new index is created. If the action parameter includes a PREVENT value and an existing index is redundant in view of the new index and the new index is not redundant in view of the existing index, the existing index is deleted and the new index is created. If the action parameter includes a PREVENT value and the new index is redundant in view of an existing index, the new index is not created.

  • Patent number: 7905561
Abstract: A pull-out guide for drawers includes a first and at least one second rail, and at least one carriage with load-transmitting roller bodies being arranged between the two rails. The carriage can be coupled to the second rail, particularly when deviating from the differential course between the two rails. A rolling or sliding body is mounted in a freely movable manner on or in the carriage, through which the carriage can be coupled to a coupling part on the second rail. A recess is provided in the first rail into which the rolling or sliding body can be moved during opening of the drawer. The coupling part can de decoupled from the rolling or sliding body and passes along the carriage.
