  • Patent number: 11943041
Abstract: Dynamic shielding of cellular signals for an antenna of an unmanned aerial vehicle is disclosed. An example method may include receiving a navigation route for an unmanned aerial vehicle to execute during flight of the unmanned aerial vehicle and determining an orientation of a radio signal shield for an antenna of the unmanned aerial vehicle using ground level signal propagation information of radio signals for a network and the navigation route, wherein the radio signal shield prevents the radio signals from being received by the antenna from directions based on the orientation. The method may further include adjusting the radio signal shield using the orientation and communicating with a cellular base station of the network using the antenna.

  • Publication number: 20040139477
Abstract: A method and system for extending the reach of cable television (CATV) broadcast networks via 60 GHz (nominally) wireless radio frequency (RF) repeaters. An original CATV AML broadcast signal, having a bandwidth of 55-860 MHz, is up-converted to a millimeter wavelength RF signal having a nominal base frequency of 60 GHz (57-64 GHz) such that the up-converted signal has a bandwidth of the base frequency plus the bandwidth of the CATV broadcast signal (e.g., 60.055-60.860 GHz). This up-converted signal is then transmitted from a transmitter antenna to a receiver antenna, which collectively define the end points of a point-to-point wireless link between network nodes. The up-converted signal is then down converted at the receiver end to produce a repeated CATV AML broadcast signal having substantially the same characteristics as the original signal. The radio transmission operations may be performed in accordance with FCC part 15.255 transmissions, enabling unlicensed operation.

  • Patent number: 4633199
Abstract: In a microwave circulator having a ferrite core axially aligned along the axis of a junction of waveguides and surrounded by an insulating sleeve seated in counterbores in opposed metal transformers seated in opposed waveguide broad walls, one end of the ferrite core is highly polished and bonded with a silver epoxy to one of the metal transformers and spaced from the other by an insulating disk. Opposed rare-earth cylindrical magnets embedded in the broad wall axially aligned along the junction axis bias the ferrite core and establish a magnetic field along the junction axis inside the ferrite core.
