  • Patent number: 10207363
Abstract: An additive manufacturing temperature controller/temperature sensor uses one or more spectrophotometric sensors to monitor temperature of successive layers and preferably localized sections of successive layers of a melt pool, and transients thereof, of an object being generated for the purpose of dynamic control of the additive manufacturing device and/or quality control of the generated object manufactured with the additive manufacturing device. Generally, the additive manufacturing temperature controller/sensor apparatus monitors temperature of a section of the object during manufacture as a function of wavelength, time, position, and/or angle to determine melt extent in terms of radius and/or depth.

  • Patent number: 9928194
Abstract: Described embodiments provide a transmitter for transmitting data over a serial bus coupled to the transmitter. The transmitter includes a controller to generate data for transmission by the transmitter. A transmit driver is coupled to the controller. The transmit driver, in response to the generated data for transmission, generates logic transitions on the serial bus. The transmit driver generates low-to-high logic transitions on the serial bus by charging the serial bus by a bus current based on (i) a predetermined initial bias level for a first time period, and (ii) a first predetermined maximum bias level for a second time period. The transmit driver generates high-to-low logic transitions on the serial bus by discharging the serial bus by a bus current based on (i) a pre-charged level of the transmit driver, and (ii) a second predetermined maximum bias level for a third time period.

  • Patent number: 9927592
Abstract: An enclosure system for receiving a cable includes an enclosure having an inner chamber and an open position exposing the inner chamber and a closed position covering the inner chamber. A cable receiving port in a wall of the enclosure extends along a longitudinal axis from outside of the enclosure into the inner chamber. The cable receiving port is configured to receive a cable therein when the cable is advanced axially into the port without rotation of the cable when the enclosure is in the closed position. A mating member is associated with the cable receiving port that limits rotation of the cable when the cable is advanced axially into the port. An axial retention member is associated with the cable receiving port that limits axial movement of the cable out of the port when the cable is advanced axially into the port to a lock position.

  • Patent number: 9907589
Abstract: A surgical plate device that incorporates a screw locking mechanism in each screw hole by which the surgical plate device is affixed to a bony segment. The screw locking mechanism includes a tab structure emanating from an interior portion (or either surface) of the surgical plate that is biased into a portion of the corresponding screw hole. When a screw is inserted into the screw hole, the head of the screw temporarily biases the tab structure out of the screw hole, until the head of the screw passes below the plane of the tab structure, at which point the tab structure rebounds into the previously occupied portion of the screw hole, thereby covering a portion of the head of the screw and preventing it from “backing out.

  • Patent number: 9887653
Abstract: Described embodiments provide circuits, systems and methods for controlling operation of brushless direct current motors that include a plurality of windings. A gate driver provides control signals to switching elements that control a voltage applied to each of the windings of the motor. A zero crossing detector detects zero crossings of a voltage applied to the windings and transitions a zero crossing signal between a first logic level and a second logic level based on the detected zero crossings. A position estimator estimates an angular position of the motor, and counts in a first direction based on the first logic level of the zero crossing signal, and in a second direction based on the second logic level of the zero crossing signal. An observer determines a value of the counter after an elapsed time, and generates an angular position signal based upon the value of the counter.

  • Patent number: 9877766
Abstract: A driver device (hexalobe or otherwise) that includes a handle portion, an elongate shaft portion, and an end portion that includes a screw engagement portion and a split manufactured offset from the central axis of the end portion and/or the screw engagement portion, forming two asymmetric halves of the end portion and/or screw engagement portion. This screw engagement portion is slightly oversized relative to the corresponding tool engagement recess of the locking cap, set screw, or bone screw. Thus, when the screw engagement portion is pressed into the corresponding tool engagement recess of the locking cap, set screw, or bone screw, the split manufactured offset from the central axis of the end portion and/or the screw engagement portion allows the screw engagement portion to compress slightly, creating a friction fit between the screw engagement portion and the corresponding tool engagement recess of the locking cap, set screw, or bone screw.

  • Patent number: 9780706
Abstract: A driver circuit is provided for driving a load, such as a multi-phase motor. The driver circuit includes a gate driver for providing a control signal to switching elements coupled to the driver circuit. A first switching element is coupled between a high supply voltage and a switching node of the load, and a second switching element is coupled between the switching node and a low supply voltage. To detect zero crossings of a current through the load, a zero crossing detector includes a first counter coupled to the switching node and a second counter coupled to the control signal. The first counter and second counter count in a predetermined direction based on a detected voltage of the switching node and based on a detected voltage of the control signal, respectively. The zero crossing detector generates an output signal based upon the difference between the first and the second counter.
