    Abstract: The invention relates to a control device and to a method for coordinating at least one function component in a motor vehicle having a vehicle-external function component. The at least one function component is combined in the motor vehicle by means of a gateway apparatus into a vehicle domain. The at least one vehicle-external function component is combined by means of a respective gateway apparatus into at least one vehicle-external domain. Context messages are generated for each domain and the domains output their context messages to the control device via their respective gateway apparatuses. A memory apparatus of the control device provides at least one context rule. A monitoring apparatus of the control device controls a function component indicated in the context rule based on the at least one context rule and according to the context messages.

Messages are sent out to the vehicle from a plurality of data sources in a data network, in particular the Internet, and the messages are not delivered directly to the vehicle, but rather to a server device of the data network, where the messages are each assigned one of a plurality of predetermined message classes by the server device and messages of a first message class are immediately transferred to the vehicle by the server device, messages of a second message class are saved in the server device and messages of a third message class are deleted. A server device coupled to a data network works with the method.
