  • Publication number: 20070142603
Abstract: The present invention relates to polyurethane(urea) and sulfur-containing polyurethane(urea), and methods of their preparation. In a non-limiting embodiment, polyisocyanate, polyisothiocyanate or mixtures thereof can be reacted with polyol, polythiol or mixtures thereof, amine, and diol, dithiol or mixtures thereof to produce polyurethane(urea) and/or sulfur-containing polyurethane(urea).

  • Publication number: 20070142604
Abstract: The present invention relates to polyurethanes and sulfur-containing polyurethanes and methods for their preparation. Polyurethanes of the present invention can be prepared by combining polyisocyanate; trifunctional or higher-functional polyol having molecular weight of less than or equal to 200 grams/mole; and diol having molecular weight of less than or equal to 200 grams/mole. Sulfur-containing polyurethanes of the present invention can be prepared by combining polyisocyanate and/or polyisothiocyanate; trifunctional or higher-functional polyol having molecular weight of less than or equal to 200 grams/mole, and/or trifunctional or higher-functional polythiol having molecular weight of less than or equal to 600 grams/mole; and diol having molecular weight of less than or equal to 200 grams/mole and/or dithiol having molecular weight of less than or equal to 600 grams/mole.

  • Publication number: 20070002420
Abstract: An electrochromic window includes a first transparent substrate having a first electrically-conductive coating and a second transparent plastic substrate having a second electrically-conductive coating. An electrochromic medium is located between the first and second electrically-conductive coatings. At least one of the first and second electrically-conductive coatings comprises a metal layer located between first and second metal oxide layers. A plurality of first spaced facilities contact the first electrically-conductive coating and a plurality of second spaced facilities contact the second electrically-conductive coating.

  • Publication number: 20070002421
Abstract: An electrochromic window includes a first transparent, e.g., plastic, substrate having a first primer over at least a portion thereof and a first electrically conductive coating over at least a portion of the first primer. A second transparent plastic substrate has a second primer over at least a portion thereof and a second electrically conductive coating over at least a portion of the second primer. The first primer has a coefficient of expansion less than the coefficient of expansion of the first plastic substrate, and the second primer has a coefficient of expansion less than the coefficient of expansion of the second plastic substrate. An electrochromic medium is located between the first and second electrically conductive coatings. At least one of the first and second electrically conductive coatings has a metal layer located between first and second metal oxide layers.

  • Publication number: 20060047058
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a method for making a polymer that has nanostructures incorporated into the matrix of the polymer. The method of the invention involves the following steps: mixing a precursor solution for the polymer with a precursor for the nanostructures to form a mixture; forming nanostructures in the mixture from the precursor of the nanostructures; and forming a polymer from the precursor solution of the polymer so that the nanostructures are incorporated into the polymer matrix.

  • Publication number: 20050164008
Abstract: Unsymmetrical polyurethane polyol prepolymers are disclosed for use in the formation of coating compositions. The prepolymers are prepared as a reaction product of a diisocyanate with a short chain aliphatic diol and a long chain polymeric diol. The prepolymers are intended as the first component for reaction with a second component polyisocyanate in a two-component coating composition. The coating compositions exhibit excellent abrasion resistance and weatherability, and are particularly useful as coatings for polymeric window transparencies.
