  • Patent number: 8684894
Abstract: An apparatus for performing stretching and strengthening exercises for the human body includes a substantially nonelastic strap segment having a first end and a second end, a strap housing connected to the strap segment first end with a mechanism to lock the strap at a desired length of extension from the housing, an elastic resistance band having a first end and a second end, with the elastic resistance band first end connected to the strap segment second end, and an anchor point releasably connected to the elastic resistance band second end. A user can grasp the strap housing either directly or by a handle or bar, adjust the length of the strap and elastic resistance band, and affix the anchor point to a cuff, loop, stirrup, or other article to perform stretching and strengthening exercises. Alternatively, the strap housing can itself be affixed to a glove, mat, bracket, or other article, and the anchor point grasped by or secured to the user to perform exercises.

  • Patent number: 5555845
Abstract: This invention provides a container and method of transport for transporting lobster and like live cargo. The container comprises a bin stackable on similar bins with a divider assembly mountable within the bin. The divider assembly has runner partition walls to extend the full extent of the bin in one direction; and cross partition walls to extend the full extent of the bin at right angles to the runner partition walls, to divide the bin into compartments of a size to receive individual lobsters. After the partition walls have been mounted into the bin to divide the bin into compartments of a size to receive a single lobster; a lobster is loaded into each compartment of the bin. The bin is then stacked onto a similar bin within a transport vehicle and transported to the place of use. The lobster is then unloaded from the bins at the place of use. The divider assembly is then removed from each of the bins, the bins nested and returned to the field for re-loading.

  • Patent number: 5481779
Abstract: This invention is a portable support apparatus composing a mounting frame or yoke which can be supported about the hips of a worker or be attached to a machine or robot. A pivoting assembly pivots a rod having one end secured to the pivoting assembly to adjust the rod angle relative to the mounting yoke. A head assembly attachment means is secured to the rod at its other end, and is adjustable to a plurality of pitch angles relative to the rod to facilitate contact with the surface to be worked on. A head assembly is attached to the rod which may support a variety of material-removing devices including stabbers, brushes, and scrapers, all of which can rotate circularly or eccentrically or vibrate to facilitate removal of material from surfaces. The head assembly also may include fluid projection nozzles, and vacuum apertures for connection to vacuum systems for removal of materials. The head assembly may also be adapted for use as a tool for the application of various substances or a surface.
