    Abstract: A computer system wherein supply voltage are selectively coupled to a bus card. The computer system comprises a data bus and a voltage supply carrying a plurality of supply voltages. The computer system also includes a connector operative to receive a bus card that includes a plurality of power supply pins. A switching circuit is coupled in series between the connector and the voltage supply bus. The switching circuit selectively couples supply voltages to the power supply pins of the connector in response to determining the power requirements of the bus card.
