  • Patent number: 8768625
Abstract: Methods provide personalized route generation with computer readable program code, when read by a processor, configured for storing an image viewing pattern in a memory, and determining a first object viewing interest from the image viewing pattern. The image viewing pattern may be based at least in part on an image viewing history. The first object viewing interest may be depicted in at least one image in the image viewing history. The method may further include receiving a request for directions to a destination in a geographic region, identifying a first area in an electronic map of the geographic region and generating a first route to the destination. The first area may include the first object viewing interest. The first route may feature the first area.

  • Publication number: 20140129653
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system, method, and program product to provide a user creating an electronic message one or more alerts related to the content and addressees of the electronic message. A computer identifies the one or more addressees of the electronic message. The computer determines one or more alerts associated with each of the identified one or more addressees. The computer displays the alerts in a manner that each step is performed prior to the computer transmitting the electronic message for delivery to one or more addressees.

  • Publication number: 20140061320
Abstract: An additional layer of encoding is provided using conventional one-dimensional (ā€œ1-Dā€) bar code symbology. Dark bars of at least 2 heights are used (where the dark bars may be narrow or wide, and may be separated by a space that is narrow or wide) for 2-dimensional (ā€œ2-Dā€) encoding. Whereas the width of the dark bars is significant in the 1-D encoding, the height of the dark bars is significant for the 2-D encoding. In one approach, dark bars of a shortest height are used for encoding conventional 1-D data, while dark bars of other heights encode additional data in a 2-D portion of a bar code. In another approach, consecutive dark bars are used in combination, according to a mapping which correlates the various combinations of bar heights to respective characters. The 2-D encoding rules may be proprietary, providing a type of data privacy.

  • Patent number: 8650506
Abstract: A method, system and computer-usable medium for generating a manufacturing-usable easily modifiable product order document is presented. An object collection of objects that describe features of components of a product is created. A view database that describes a logical relationship among components in the object collection is also created. A single document that includes the object collection and the view database is then generated. This single document can be updated according to technical requirements for a product being manufactured according to a product description created from the single document.

  • Publication number: 20130215083
Abstract: Separating and securing the input of any user to a multiuser surface display computer by storing a fingerprint of each of a plurality of users and sensing the fingerprint of a finger of a user touching, or adjacent to, the surface display. The sensed fingerprint is compared to stored fingerprints for a match and the identified (id) finger of a matched fingerprint is enabled to access the surface display and moved to draw an enclosure on the surface display and moved further to drag and drop a plurality of objects on the display into the enclosure. The enclosure and plurality of objects are then stored and subsequent access is limited to the fingerprint of said (id) finger touching said display.

  • Patent number: 8485053
Abstract: The illustrative embodiments provide a method and apparatus for stabilizing an electronic rack structure. In one embodiment the apparatus comprises an enclosure with a user interface panel. The apparatus also comprises a gyroscope, sensor system and controller attached within an enclosure. A sensor system associated with the gyroscope is capable of detecting a tilt of an electronic rack structure. A controller is also located within the enclosure and is capable of detecting the tilt of the electronic rack structure and controlling an orientation of the gyroscope to counter the tilt of the electronic rack structure in response to detecting the tilt. In another illustrative embodiment, a method for stabilizing an electronic rack structure is provided.

  • Publication number: 20130179990
Abstract: A server computing device for a social networking web site receives from a user, via access of the web site, confidential information regarding the user, including information that the user does not socially share on the web site. The device associates the confidential information with a user identifier that uniquely identifies the user on the web site, and with an export group identifier corresponding to a type of the confidential information. The device associates the export group identifier with a password different from a user password the user employs to access the web site. The device receives, from a third party, a purported user identifier, a purported export group identifier, and a purported password, which the device validates against the user identifier, the export group identifier, and the password. Where validation is successful, the device permits access to the confidential information by the third party.

  • Publication number: 20130136244
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to effectively traversing the structure of an interactive voice response system. A menu associated with the system is organized and arranged in a hierarchy. Each received input is dynamically analyzed to enable a traversal of the hierarchy and to direct the input to an appropriate menu option associated with the system. The appropriate menu option is directly related to the input submission, and supports a direct communication with a telecommunication device that initiated communication with the system.

  • Publication number: 20130089299
Abstract: A video is divided into portions and has objects. Each object appears in one or more portions. A graphical diagram is generated and displayed that has graphical elements corresponding to the objects. Each graphical element has a size corresponding to a number and/or size of the portions in which the object to which the graphical element corresponds appears. The graphical elements have locations within the graphical diagram in correspondence with relationships of appearance of the objects within the portions. Selection of a point or area within the graphical diagram is received. Which of the graphical elements include the point or area are determined as one or more selected graphical elements corresponding to one or more selected objects. Which of the portions include all the selected objects are determined and output as one or more selected portions.

  • Patent number: 8416061
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and computer usable program product for controlling a range of a radio frequency identification tag signal. The process identifies an operative range for the radio frequency identification tag signal of a radio identification tag. The process then selects a set of conductive paths in the radio frequency identification tag corresponding to the desired operative range. The set of conductive paths controls the range of the radio frequency identification tag signal in the radio identification frequency tag.
