  • Publication number: 20250035686
Abstract: In one embodiment, an IED apparatus is described. The IED apparatus includes (a) power system equipment; (b) a first Ethernet port configured to connect to a monitoring server over one of optical fiber cable or multiple-twisted-pair copper cable (MTPCC); (c) a second Ethernet port configured to connect to a remote sensor device over a single-twisted-pair copper cable (STPCC) using the 10Base-T1S or -T1L standard; and (d) processing circuitry configured to (1) communicate monitoring data with the monitoring server over the first Ethernet port and (2) receive sensor information from the remote sensor device via the second Ethernet port over the STPCC using the 10Base-T1S or -T1L standard. A related system is also described.

  • Publication number: 20100114390
Abstract: A method of monitoring the operation of a load in an electrical power distribution system comprises selecting a parameter representing operation of the load, determining an expected characteristic of the parameter during normal operation of the load, and comparing measured values of the parameter with the expected characteristic to detect potential abnormal operation of the load.

  • Patent number: 7246014
Abstract: An Enterprise Energy Management (“EEM”) software system is disclosed that displays EEM data and allows a user to interact with the data to better understand and manage their electrical system. The EEM software system collects real-time, near real-time and historical input data from various data sources, creates useful information from that data by filtering and isolating relevant data and performing analytics on the data, displays that data to the user in an easy to understand format, and allows the user to interact with the displayed data. The EEM software allows the user to perform what-if analysis, make changes in their system and verify results of those changes. The graphical user interfaces provide context sensitive and relevant guidance to novice and expert users.
