  • Patent number: 6805089
Abstract: An intake device (1) for an internal combustion engine including a main body (2) and cover element (3; 20) which are securely connected to one another. Main body (2) and cover element (3) form intake pipes (4, 5, 6, 7) of in intake manifold. The cover element (3; 20) includes a plurality of individual shells (14, 15, 16, 17; 24, 25, 26, 27), which are connected to one another. Each individual shell (14, 15, 16, 17; 24, 25, 26, 27) forms a wall section of a respective intake pipe (4, 5, 6, 7) of the intake device (1). A flexible connection element (22) is arranged between two successively adjacent individual shells (25, 26) to compensate for tolerances between the cover element (3) and the main body (2).

  • Patent number: 6666182
Abstract: An intake device for an internal combustion engine including a mounting flange (10) for mounting to a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine and a plurality of intake manifolds (11-14) which open into a common collecting chamber. The mounting flange (10) and upper shells (23, 24, 25, 26) form a first component; lower shells (27, 28, 29, 30) form a third component, and a central, second component (31) is provided between the first and third components. The respective components are assembled to each other in such a way that the second component is fixed to the first component by a positive fit, and the third component is fixed to the second component in the same way. The components are preferably secured together by friction welding.

  • Patent number: 6161514
Abstract: A suction or air intake module for an internal combustion engine comprising an air suction pipe made of synthetic resin material and a flange joint at the air intake on the cylinder head housing of the internal combustion engine. The air suction pipe is a one-piece blown element of synthetic resin material and is disposed by a spring in a housing part of the air intake module with the air outlet end of the air suction pipe extending into the area of a connection between the housing part and the cylinder head housing. A flange is arranged in the connecting area between the housing part and the cylinder head housing, the flange forming a single piece with the housing part and enabling the housing part to be sealingly attached to the air inlet of the cylinder head housing.

  • Patent number: 5501723
Abstract: An activated carbon filter is provided for venting a fuel tank. The activated carbon filter consists of a housing which accommodates activated carbon packets. Via lines, the housing is connected, on the one hand, by way of a first connection with the fuel tank, and on the other hand, by way of a second connection with the intake pipe, particularly that of a combustion engine. A third connection connects the housing with the atmosphere. The housing has a first partition which extends between the connection for the atmosphere and the connection for the tank. At least one other partition is provided which forms at least one other chamber. Each of the chambers is filled with activated carbon.
