  • Patent number: 6010565
Abstract: This invention relates to a foamed material for fireproofing and/or insulating purposes, consisting of 30 to 90 parts by weight of a solution that contains 20 to 70 wt-% Al (H.sub.2 PO.sub.4).sub.3 and 30 to 80 wt-% water, 5 to 55 parts by weight of a mixture that contains 10 to 70 wt-% MgO, 0 to 70 wt-% mica, 0 to 70 wt-% aluminium hydroxide and 1 to 20 wt-% MnO.sub.2, as well as 1 to 30 parts by weight of a foaming agent that contains 3 to 33 wt-% H.sub.2 O.sub.2 and 67 to 97 wt-% water. In accordance with the invention, the term "insulating purposes" refers to the use of the inventive foamed material for heat and sound insulation.

  • Patent number: 4606874
Abstract: There is described a process for the production of high temperature resistant, high density ceramic molded articles at a temperature above 1300.degree. C. and at high pressure in a mold. For this purpose, the blank is heated outside the mold, transferred with a die at 1 to 10 m/sec into the cold mold, compressed there and ejected in the pressing direction. Thereby, the residence time in the mold must be less than 3 msec and the sum of the transport time of the blank from heating up to the mold and the residence time in the mold so regulated that the temperature drop between the nucleus of the blank and the surface of the blank does not exceed 150.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4600610
Abstract: There are known molded bodies for the safe, long time fixation of radioactive and toxic wastes which have a matrix of graphite and inorganic binding agent, preferably nickel sulfide. An increased resistance to leaching is obtained with molded bodies that have a waste containing nucleus and a waste free shell made of the same graphite matrix.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 9, 1982
Date of Patent: July 15, 1986
    Assignee: Nukem GmbH

  • Patent number: 4560502
Abstract: For the longtime fixation of radioactive and toxic waste there are used molded bodies made of graphite with nickel sulfide as a binding agent. The molded bodies show especially good properties if the nickel sulfide is in the form of Ni.sub.3 S.sub.2.
