  • Patent number: 8396403
Abstract: In a toner roller for use in a developer station for a printer or copier, a roller-shaped base body has an electrically conductive surface on which is arranged an insulation layer. The insulation layer comprises plastic and has a layer thickness and arranged between 150 ?m and 1000 ?m. The insulation layer also comprises a filler where the filler comprises electrically conductive additives.

  • Patent number: 8185004
Abstract: In a method or system to set a dot size of toner images, at least one latent raster image is generated that is not to be inked with toner particles in at least one region to form a first toner image. At least one additional latent raster image is generated that is to be inked with toner particles over its entire surface, the additional latent raster image being inked with toner particles to form an additional toner image. With a sensor unit a first toner particle quantity is determined which is used to ink at least one toner image and a second toner particle quantity is determined which is used to ink the at least one additional toner image. A ratio of the first toner particle quantity and the second toner particle quantity is determined. The determined ratio is used as a measure representing a real value for an areal coverage of the first toner image and the real value is compared with a desired value.

  • Patent number: 8068753
Abstract: In a method or control device for controlling an electrophotographic printer or copier that has at least two developer stations, during a print operation print data is used to determine which developer stations are needed for printing of the data. In the event it is established that a developer station was not need or will not be needed for a predetermined time span, the developer station is shifted into a standby state in which at least one part of mechanical actuators of the developer station is stopped.

  • Patent number: 8023838
Abstract: In a method or system for controlling an electrophotographic printer or copier that has at least one developer station, a toner discharge from the developer station is detected during the print operation and a developer regeneration process is started when the detected toner discharge fulfills a predetermined first regeneration criterion. A charge image is generated on the photoconductor, the charge image is developed by the developer station, and the developed image is removed by a cleaning device without being transferred as printed onto a recording medium. New toner is introduced into the developer station. Also in accordance with the method or system for controlling an electrophotographic printer or copier that has at least two developer stations, during a print operation the print data is used to determine which developer stations are needed for printing of the data.

  • Publication number: 20060216070
Abstract: A casing is provided for transport of a toner mixture on its outer surface in a development device. An outer surface of a metal casing is chemically pre-treated. In a subsequent chemical deposition, a nickel-copper-phosphor layer is generated on the outer metal casing surface. The layer comprises 1 to 2% copper and 8 to 10% phosphor and the remainder comprises substantially nickel.
