  • Publication number: 20200260183
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for a privacy blocking device configured to prevent receipt, by a listening device, of video and/or audio data until a trigger occurs. A blocker may be configured to prevent receipt of video and/or audio data by one or more microphones and/or one or more cameras of a listening device. The blocker may use the one or more microphones, the one or more cameras, and/or one or more second microphones and/or one or more second cameras to monitor for a trigger. The blocker may process the data. Upon detecting the trigger, the blocker may transmit data to the listening device. For example, the blocker may transmit all or a part of a spoken phrase to the listening device.

  • Publication number: 20200150938
Abstract: Aspects described herein may be used with local spreadsheet applications, web, and/or cloud-based spreadsheet solutions, to create complex custom software applications. Spreadsheets themselves lack the conceptual framework to be used as a platform tool to build custom or complex software applications. Using the methods and systems described herein using low-code/no-code techniques, a designer can create custom and/or complex software applications using one or more spreadsheets as the underlying blueprints for the software application. The resultant software application may be static/read-only, or may be interactive to allow users to dynamically add, delete, edit, or otherwise amend application data, e.g., via one or more online web pages or via a mobile application. Data transfer may be one-way or bi-directional between the blueprint spreadsheets and the resultant software application, thereby allowing amended data to be transferred from the software application back into spreadsheet form.

  • Publication number: 20170147955
Abstract: Computing systems, methods and tools for managing and optimizing the allocation of enterprise resources by automating employee management decision making to align management decisions made on a local level with the goals of the overall enterprise, global economies and emerging market trends. The computing systems, methods and tools use historical data, objective attributes and subjective feedback at the local level to predict employee progression at specific points in time of an employee's career and the effects particular management decisions may have on the employee as an asset of an enterprise, in order to predict, calculate and select the optimal actions that will further improve the employee's value to the enterprise yielding an optimal return on the investment of resources.

  • Publication number: 20150134956
Abstract: Credentials for an account on a remote server requiring credentialed access by a client device are created, credentials are transmitted to the remote server, and response data including the credentials is received from the remote server, while restricting access to the credentials by the client device at all times. Session data transmitted by the remote server is also restricted from the client device to prevent side loading of session secrets onto client devices that may be used to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the remote server. Cookies are used to allow the client device to access more than remote server without having to authenticate individually to each remote server.

  • Patent number: 8600847
Abstract: In an economic relationship between a first party and a plurality of second parties in connection with provision of at least one of goods and services for a fee, costs incurred by the first party, in connection with a loss of at least some of the second parties to the relationship, are estimated. A response curve of second party loss probability versus fee is also estimated. An optimal value of a modification to the fee is determined, such that profits of the first party are maximized, taking into account the costs incurred by the first party in connection with the loss of the at least some of the second parties and the response curve of the second party loss probability versus the fee. At least one action to take in response to the determining of the optimal value is determined.

  • Publication number: 20080065767
Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing network-based control functions on an alert-enabled managed client. An alert proxy translates generic, management-based command data received from a management application/agent into specific client-based hardware control data. The alert proxy transmits a data packet containing the hardware control data over a network to an alert-enabled managed client. Alert hardware within the alert-enabled managed client parses the hardware control data into control bits and utilizes the control bits to set or clear registers within the alert-enabled managed client so as to effectuate the specified control operations. The control operations may be performed on the alert-enabled managed client independent of the operational status of the alert-enabled managed client's operating system.

  • Publication number: 20070043603
Abstract: A method and system for matching a knowledge worker to a selecting entity's needs according to a system of codes corresponding to pre-defined rules of engagement. The rules of engagement include, but are not limited to, experience levels, salary, geographic location, job starting date and duration, and industry sector. If a search of knowledge workers fails to match an available worker with a job need of the selecting entity, the selecting entity posts a job posting on a website maintained by a third party administrator who maintains webpages that are accessible only to screened job applicants.

  • Publication number: 20050055456
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for managing data transmissions at a local network device communicating with a linked network device over a network, wherein each network device is capable of transmitting data at different speeds. An operation is initiated to change a current transmission speed at which data is transmitted between the local and linked network devices in response to a speed change event. A determination is made of a new transmission speed different from the current transmission speed. A register is set in the local network device to indicate the new transmission speed. A speed change request and the new transmission speed are transmitted to the linked network device to cause the local and linked network devices to communicate at the new transmission speed, wherein the transmission occurs without terminating a linked exchange occurring between the local and linked network devices.
