  • Publication number: 20200109783
Abstract: A method for producing a seal between two roof frame elements for a vehicle roof is described and having the steps of providing the two roof frame elements in such a manner that an overlap region is formed, wherein at least one gap is formed in the overlap region; mechanically supported introduction of a hardening sealing material into the gap by an applicator device in such a manner that the sealing material flows into the gap and subsequently hardens in order to form a gap seal. Arrangements resulting from the described methods is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20080067839
Abstract: A wind deflector for an openable vehicle roof with a movable cover element has a raisable deflector element (20) made of a flexible flat material and at least two lateral raising arms (22), each of which, with its end facing the vehicle rear, is coupled in the region of the roof-mounted guide rail (14) and is used for moving the deflector element (20) between the lowered rest position and a raised, at least partially tensioned operating position. The raising arms (22) are each provided with a retraction means (28) so that the coupling points are pushed in the direction of the vehicle rear in the operating position as compared to their location in the rest position, and the positioning angle of the deflector element (20) undergoes a reduction during raising.

  • Patent number: 6457769
Abstract: A sunroof for a motor vehicle having roof with an opening, the sunroof including a cover panel for closing the roof opening, a pair of guide rails for supporting the cover panel, a drive device for moving the cover panel vertically and horizontally with relative to the roof in a open and closed position. The sunroof also includes a shade device which can be pulled vertically to cover panel the drive device from the inside while the cover panel is in the open position. The shade device is mounted such that it is fixed with respect to a respective guide rail in a lengthwise direction relative to the roof, while the cover panel is mounted such that it can be moved in the lengthwise direction with respect to the shade device.

  • Patent number: 6309013
Abstract: A motor vehicle roof with a cover (14) which has a closed position in which it closes a roof opening (12) in a fixed roof skin (10), and which can be raised for ventilation purposes, and with an adjustable headliner part (16, 116) which can be both moved from a closed position in which it blocks viewing of the cover from the motor vehicle interior (18) and an open position in which it exposes the roof opening or the cover. The headliner can also be raised with the cover to increase the ventilation function. A coupling mechanism is provided for coupling the headliner to the cover for entraining the headliner to rise with the cover but is disengageable for uncoupling of the headliner part from the cover for enabling longitudinal movement of the headliner relative to the cover into said at least one pushed-back position. Engagement and disengagement the coupling mechanism can be position dependent or can be manually actuated.

  • Patent number: 6286899
Abstract: A wind deflector for a motor vehicle roof having a roof opening and a cover for closing and exposing the roof opening, has a body with a wind-deflecting surface and which is movable between a rest position and a raised operating position and is formed of at least two body elements which are movable relative to one another between a compact configuration in said rest position and a raised and expanded configuration in the operating position. The body elements are coupled to one another and are pre-tensioned towards their expanded configuration and include at least one base body element and an auxiliary body element. The auxiliary body is connected to a displacement element for raising and lowering both the at least one base body element and the auxiliary body element to and from their operating position, the at least one base body element being displaced downward relative to the auxiliary body element as the auxiliary body is raised.

  • Patent number: 6189963
Abstract: A guide crank for the cover of an openable motor vehicle roof comprises a crank body connected to the cover and including at least one slotted opening. The opening itself either forms a guideway or is used as the receiver of a guide body which has a guideway. At least one stiffening element is provided for bridging the opening at least in one partial area and joining the material areas of the crank body to one another on either side of the opening. The stiffening element makes the guide crank economical with high stiffness and with low material thickness and narrow crosspieces above and below the opening.

  • Patent number: 6135544
Abstract: Motor vehicle roof with at least one roof opening (11) which can be selectively closed or at least partially exposed by means of an sliding cover (12) which can be displaced by a cover A drive (20), and with a wind deflector (14) which is located along the front edge (13) of the roof opening and which can be operated by a wind deflector actuating mechanism (23) depending on the movements of the sliding cover or the cover drive, between a working position with the roof (10) at least partially opened and a rest position with the roof closed. To suppress wind deflector whistling noises, the wind deflector actuating mechanism is coupled to the cover drive or the sliding cover itself such that, when the roof is opened, the wind deflector is raised into the working position on a delayed basis, after the sliding cover is first moved a predetermined distance (S) in the opening direction.
