    Abstract: The electrical charging of a group of vehicles electrically connected to an electricity grid is controlled. A central control system responds to a received increase command by performing a power increase operation according to an increase scheme. The increase command stipulates an amount by which the power draw by the group of vehicles needs to be increased. The increase scheme is ascertained by the central control system based on the increase command and specifies a temporary increase in the charging power for the energy store of one or more vehicles of the group. If the charging operation for the energy store of at least one vehicle is altered by the user after reception of the increase command and before or during the power increase operation, the central control system checks whether the parameters of the altered charging operation does not decrease the amount of power according to the increase command.

In addition, a cost value for the charging time window is predefined in accordance with a cost function which specifies a cost level as a function of the charging process according to the charging time window. The central control system transmits a modified charging time window to a respective specific vehicle of at least some of the specific vehicles, after which the charging process is carried out according to the modified charging time window by fulfilling the charging time criterion with an unchanged departure time and setpoint state of charge.

In the event that, after receiving the reduction command and prior to or during the power reduction operation, the user alters at least one of the one or more parameters such that the charging operation of the energy storage device of the respective vehicle is altered, the method further includes checking, by the central control system, whether a preset criterion has been met.
