  • Publication number: 20240146954
Abstract: A coding efficiency increase is achieved by using a common signalization within the bitstream with regard to activation of merging and activation of the skip mode. One possible state of one or more syntax elements within the bitstream may signalize for a current sample set of a picture that the sample set is to be merged and has no prediction residual encoded and inserted into the bitstream. A common flag may signalize whether the coding parameters associated with a current sample set are to be set according to a merge candidate or to be retrieved from the bitstream, and whether the current sample set of the picture is to be reconstructed based on a prediction signal depending on the coding parameters associated with the current sample set, without any residual data, or to be reconstructed by refining the prediction signal depending on the coding parameters associated with the current sample set by means of residual data within the bitstream.

  • Patent number: 6288361
Abstract: The invention relates to the joining of flat products of metallic materials to be interconnected overlapping. The joining takes place in a roll nip into which the flat products to be interconnected are introduced at an acute angle. Before they are pressed on one another in the roll nip, they are heated on their facing surfaces by radiation energy, but not melted. By a suitable profiling of at least one roller generated surface or one flat product the surface pressing is limited to the zone of the overlap joint and any flow of material transversely of the direction of the overlap joint is prevented.

  • Patent number: 6288359
Abstract: The invention relates to a welding device operating by laser for two workpieces (1, 2) to be connected to one another via a self-contained, continuously extending weld seam (N). The welding device comprises a focusing optical system (7) having a seam follow-up sensor (10) and is borne by a pivoting arm (11), so that the focussing optical system (7) describes a circular path in relation to the workpieces (1, 2). The positioning of the focusing optical system (7) on the pivoting arm (11) is corrected by means of a drive (13) in dependence on the measuring result of the seam follow-up sensor (10).

  • Patent number: 6052901
Abstract: The invention relates to a light construction wheel of steel sheet which is produced by the cold working of a flat, one-piece circular steel sheet disc formed by the welding together of a first circular disc (1) and a second annular disc (3). In the light construction wheel the first circular disc (1) for the wheel disc/dish (1*) and the second annular disc (3) for the wheel rim (3*) are made from different uncoated or coated sheets which differ in thickness and/or strength of material in accordance with the local given strength requirements of the light construction wheel.
