  • Patent number: 12376272
Abstract: A cable assembly is disclosed. The cable assembly includes a printed circuit board (PCB) including a plurality of alternating ground pads and groups of signal pads, and a cable comprising a plurality of spaced apart differential pairs. Each differential pair defines a stripped section and an unstripped section, and the stripped sections terminate at corresponding signal pads of a corresponding group of signal pads of the PCB. An electrically conductive shield includes a cover portion disposed on and covering at least a portion of the unstripped sections of the insulated conductors and a plurality of spaced apart walls. Each wall is disposed between the stripped sections of the insulated conductors of two adjacent differential pairs and extending from the cover portion to, and making electrical contact with, a corresponding ground pad disposed between the groups of signal pads corresponding to the adjacent differential pairs.

  • Publication number: 20230258894
Abstract: An optical connector includes a housing and an optical ferrule configured to move relative to the housing. The optical ferrule is configured to mate with a mating optical connector which includes a mating housing and a mating optical ferrule fixed relative to the mating housing. The housing includes at least one first engagement feature for engaging a corresponding first mating engagement feature of the mating housing. The optical ferrule includes an input surface for receiving and transmitting a central light ray from an optical fiber, and a light redirecting side for receiving the central light ray and redirecting it along a different second direction, until it exits the optical ferrule through an output surface. When the optical connector moves to a full mating position relative to the mating optical connector, the transition causes the optical ferrule to move relative to the housing.

  • Patent number: 11088481
Abstract: A retainer assembly configured to be inserted into a plug housing to form a plug connector includes a retainer housing including a top housing portion and a bottom housing portion, a circuit board partially disposed between the top and bottom housing portions, at least one substantially flat top cable including a plurality of conductors, at least one substantially flat bottom cable including a plurality of conductors, and an adhesive for bonding the conductors to the circuit board. The top and bottom housing portions each define at least one top through opening therein and each include mating latching members. The plurality of conductors of the flat top and bottom cables are terminated at top and bottom termination regions on the circuit board, respectively, and are aligned with and exposed through the corresponding through openings. The adhesive at least partially fills each through opening and bonds the conductors in the corresponding exposed termination region to the circuit board.
