  • Publication number: 20040011145
Abstract: A pipette tip member having an elongated tubular receptacle having a sidewall having a plurality of stabilizing projections extending from the sidewall for aligning the pipette shaft and a sidewall with a bifurcated section that comprises first, second, and third sidewall portions. The first sidewall portion comprises a base wall and the second and third sidewall portions branch therefrom. The second sidewall portion comprises an outside branch wall, and the third sidewall portion comprises an inside branch wall spaced substantially parallel with and radially inward from the second sidewall portion. The inside branch wall is flexible in the radial direction and engages a pipette tip when it is inserted into the receptacle and to form a fluid-tight seal therewith. A method of forming a pipette tip member is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20030211220
Abstract: Orange juice is provided which includes as a component juice extracted from a very early season round orange cultivar which is not a Hamlin cultivar. The juice extracted from such very early season cultivar has sensory attributes which are superior to those of Hamlin fresh juice. The very early season juice has a Brix-to-acid ratio and a color intensity in excess of those provided by Hamlin cultivars which are harvested at the same time as the very early season cultivar. Preferred very early season cultivars are within the Seleta family or are Westin cultivars or are Ruby Nucellar cultivars.

  • Publication number: 20030164144
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved poultry bedding litter composition and uses incorporating the bedding litter composition. The litter composition includes byproduct or waste material from citrus juice extraction. The citrus peel byproduct or waste litter compositions improve poultry characteristics and enhance feed conversion when compared with traditional poultry bedding litters such as wood shavings. They also reduce ammonia formation and are very beneficial in addressing litter beetle problems.

  • Publication number: 20030160495
Abstract: An upholstered patio chair having a metal frame structure of compound three-dimensional shape with at least one internal hollow channel extending along the length of the frame structure and an elongated groove located in the frame structure opening into the hollow channel and forming a lip portion in the frame structure. At least one fabric panel for upholstering the frame which includes an edge containing a loop which extends through the elongated groove and into the hollow channel of the frame structure. An elongated wedge member secures the edge of the fabric panel to the frame structure in the channel by creating an interference fit between the wedge member and the lip portion of the frame structure.

  • Patent number: 6596240
Abstract: A pipette tip member having an elongated tubular receptacle with a protrusion on an inner surface of the receptacle, and a recess on the inner surface adjacent the protrusion. The tip member has a generally conical shape and the protrusion extends around the inner surface to form an annular sealing ring. The protrusion has a V-shaped axial cross section with edges that intersect at an angle between about 30° and about 120°. The recess has a generally circular axial cross section and the recess is disposed proximal to the protrusion in the axial direction. The recess depth is about as great as the protrusion height. A method of forming a pipette tip member is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20030121477
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved poultry bedding litter composition and uses incorporating the bedding litter composition. The litter composition includes byproduct or waste material from citrus juice extraction. The citrus peel byproduct or waste is in a dried state. Such bedding litter compositions improve poultry characteristics and enhance feed conversion when compared with traditional poultry bedding litters such as wood shavings.

  • Publication number: 20030113401
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved poultry feed diet composition and uses incorporating the feed composition. The feed composition includes byproduct or waste material from citrus juice extraction. The citrus byproduct or waste is at a concentration characteristic of a feed supplement. These feed supplements improve poultry characteristics and enhance feed conversion when compared with traditional poultry feed diets or supplements which rely on components that are not in their respective native states as present in citrus byproduct from juice extraction equipment.

  • Patent number: 6143347
Abstract: Not from concentrate orange juice is provided which includes as a freshly squeezed orange juice component juice extracted from an early season round orange cultivar which has a color intensity in excess of that provided by Hamlin cultivars which are harvested at the same time as the early season cultivar, which is not a Hamlin cultivar. The juice extracted from such early season cultivar has sensory attributes which are at least as acceptable as Hamlin fresh juice. Preferred early season cultivars are within the Seleta family or are Westin cultivars or are Ruby Nucellar cultivars.

  • Patent number: 5882603
Abstract: A support is provided that is useful with a pipette tip holder for pipette tips. The support has a bottom member and a pair of opposed side walls that extend from the bottom member at least a distance (d). The bottom member and side walls form a cavity. Each side wall defines a slot. The slots are in a facing relationship and extend along a support plane that is parallel to and spaced from the bottom member the distance (d). The slot ends are open on one side so as to receive the pipette tip holder when slidingly inserted into the slots. The side walls preferably include an aligning member adjacent to the open slot end so that the pipette tip holder is aligned in the slots when slid in. Thus, the support supports the pipette tips and pipette tip holder during the pipette tip removal process and resists inadvertent dislodging and lifting of the tips and holder as the tips are removed.
