Abstract: A water separator for use in an environmental control system of an aircraft including an outer housing having an upstream end, a downstream end, and a central longitudinal axis. A plurality of vanes are arranged within the outer housing and are spaced about the central longitudinal axis. A plurality of flow channels are formed between the plurality of vanes and the outer housing. The plurality of flow channels have a spiral-like configuration about the central longitudinal axis. At least one ring vane is arranged within the outer housing and extends parallel to the longitudinal axis.
