  • Publication number: 20120155859
Abstract: A device receives Long Term Evolution (LTE) architecture information, Internet protocol (IP) network architecture information, and transport network information, and determines traffic patterns of a LTE network based on the LTE architecture information. The device also generates proposed LTE metropolitan optical transport networks (OTNs) based on the determined traffic patterns and one or more of the LTE architecture information, the IP network architecture information, and the transport network information. The device further determines transit switching for the proposed LTE metropolitan OTNs, and selects, from the proposed LTE metropolitan OTNs, a metropolitan OTN optimized for the LTE network.

  • Patent number: 8181406
Abstract: A temperature and humidity controlled building houses sensitive telecommunications equipment in operation. A secure outdoor shelter within a closed perimeter abutting the building utilizes the exterior of one wall of the building as a portion of its perimeter. The outdoor shelter contains outdoor-hardened telecommunications equipment, also in operation, which dissipates large quantities of heat to the atmosphere. There are coax cable and waveguide operative interconnections between the sensitive telecommunications equipment and the outdoor-hardened telecommunications equipment, the interconnection being made through the one wall without affecting control of the temperature and humidity in the building. There is a further coax cable and waveguide connection from the outdoor equipment to a cell tower where wireless transmission takes place. The outdoor shelter can be expanded modularly.

  • Publication number: 20120041851
Abstract: An approach is provided for facilitating supply chain management based on point-of-sales or device usage data regarding a user device. A supply chain management platform receives an activation signal indicating activation of a device. The supply chain management platform then determines device information relating to the device based on the activation signal. Device information is then stored and subsequently analyzed to generate supply chain management information relating to production of the device.

  • Publication number: 20110310738
Abstract: A network device may handle packet congestion in a network. In one implementation, the network device may receive a packet associated with a quality of service priority class and with a connection to a user device. The network device may include an output queue associated with the priority class of the packet. The output queue may be congested. The network device may determine whether the connection associated with the packet is a guaranteed bit rate connection. The network device may queue the packet according to a first action policy function when the connection associated with the packet is a guaranteed bit rate connection and may queue the packet according to a second action policy function when the connection associated with the packet is not a guaranteed bit rate connection.

  • Publication number: 20110022521
Abstract: A system and method for generating an authentication token which is used by an issuer associated with a integrated circuit card to authenticate a transaction. A personal card reader receives data, including an authentication cryptogram, from the integrated circuit card. The personal card reader uses the data received from the integrated circuit card to select one of at least two default bitmaps stored in a memory portion of the personal card reader. The personal card reader uses the selected default bitmap and the authentication cryptogram to build the authentication token.

  • Publication number: 20100325341
Abstract: Memory devices and memory interfaces are disclosed. In an implementation a memory controller of a memory device is configured to receive a first part of an address for memory access, and to perform a memory access based on said first part and a part of a previously received address.

  • Publication number: 20100020686
Abstract: A communications system provides a dynamic setting of optimal buffer sizes in IP networks. A method for dynamically adjusting buffer capacities of a router may include steps of monitoring a number of incoming packets to the router, determining a packet arrival rate, and determining the buffer capacities based at least partially on the packet arrival rate. Router buffers are controlled to exhibit the determined buffer capacities, e.g. during writing packets into and reading packets from each of the buffers as part of a packet routing performed by the router. In the disclosed examples, buffer size may be based on the mean arrival rate and one or more of mean packet size and mean waiting time.

  • Patent number: 6821407
Abstract: An electroplating system includes (a) a phosphorized anode having an average grain size of at least about 50 micrometers and (b) plating apparatus that separates the anode from the cathode and prevents most particles generated at the anode from passing to the cathode. The separation may be accomplished by interposing a microporous chemical transport barrier between the anode and cathode. The relatively few particles that are generated at the large grain phosphorized copper anode are prevented from passing into the cathode (wafer) chamber area and thereby causing a defect in the part.

  • Patent number: 6012761
Abstract: A grille bar for a radiator grille of a vehicle includes a grille bar section having a leading profile defining flange portion and a forward or frontal air deflecting surface. The grille bar section also has a rear leg flange portion projecting downwardly from the upper end portion of the leading profile defining flange portion. In addition, the grille bar section has a return flange portion projecting generally rearwardly from the lower end portion of the leading profile defining flange portion. The return flange portion projects preferably rearwardly and upwardly from the lower end portion of the leading profile defining flange portion and extends generally toward the bottom edge of the rear leg flange. The return flange extends in one form to no more than about one-half of the distance between the front of the leading profile defining flange portion and the rear surface of the rear leg.
