  • Patent number: 11176284
Abstract: Disclosed here is a component configurator that generates variants of an aircraft component to be installed. The component configurator includes a detection unit that detects a characteristic of the component, and that determines an available free space for an installation of the component in an installation environment. The available free space is defined by a geometry of the component and/or is dependent on a moving space required by a user. The detection unit is configured to generate geometrically different variants of the component based on the free space available for the installation of the component in the installation environment. The disclosed subject matter further relates to a method for generating variants of an aircraft component to be installed, a program element as well as a computer readable medium on which a program element is stored.

  • Publication number: 20150176618
Abstract: A fastener device includes two generally S-shaped portions defining a generally heart-shaped interior region, the S-shaped portions each including an anchor segment connected to a coupler segment connected to a catch segment. The connection between the anchor segment and the coupler segment defines an anchor angle of less than 90 degrees and the connection between the catch segment and the coupler segment defines a catch angle of less than 90 degrees. The anchor segments are connected to define a bridge angle outside the interior region of less than 180 degrees.

  • Patent number: 6008056
Abstract: A method of assaying a preselected volume of sample on an chromatographic strip includes providing a sample receiving reservoir. This reservoir can receive a preselected volume of sample or a preselected volume of sample and reagent. The sample receiving reservoir has an overflow outlet. A moat is communicated to the overflow outlet of the sample receiving reservoir for receiving the sample or sample and reagent when the sample receiving reservoir is full. The mixed sample or sample and reagent fill the sample receiving reservoir, and discharge the excess sample through the overflow outlet to the moat. The sample receiving reservoir having the preselected volume of sample or sample and reagent is discharged on the chromatographic strip for assay. Provision is made for adding a density adding solute which is neutral to the chromatographic strip, the density adding solute occupying the sample receiving reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5871905
Abstract: This invention relates to the use and composition of materials which, when added to oral fluid samples, make such samples suitable for use with microparticle-based immunoassays. In one embodiment, this invention provides a method of reducing false positives in assays for the detection of an analyte in an oral fluid sample. The method involves providing an oral fluid sample combined with a bile acid or salt where the bile acid or salt is present in a concentration sufficient to reduce the rate of occurrence of false positives in said oral fluid based immunoassays.
