  • Publication number: 20230133722
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for creating and sharing knowledge among design houses. In particular, examples of the presently disclosed technology leverage the concepts of meta-optimizing and collaborative learning to reduce the computational burden shouldered by individual design houses using inverse design techniques to find optimal designs in a manner which protects intellectual property sensitive information. Examples may share versions of a central meta-optimizer (i.e. local meta-optimizers) among design houses targeting different (but related) design tasks. A local meta-optimizer can be trained to indirectly optimize a design task by computing hyper-parameters for a design house's private optimization function. The private optimization function may be using inverse design techniques to find an optimal design for a design task. This may correspond to finding a global minimum of a cost function using gradient descent techniques or more advanced global optimization techniques.

  • Publication number: 20230139434
Abstract: Reinforced surgical constructs and methods of tissue repairs. A surgical construct can offer both repair and shuttling capabilities to allow for a single pass to load multiple sutures at once. A surgical construct includes one or more repair sutures provided with one or more junctions (one or more releasable stitches), to allow the repair sutures to be joined and subsequently released. At least one of the one or more junctions (releasable stitches) can be formed by weaving back and forth another flexible strand (releasing suture) through the one or more repair sutures. When the flexible strand is pulled, it pulls out the one or more junctions (releasable stitches) from the repair sutures, freeing the repair sutures. The surgical construct may be part of a knotless or knotted construct.

  • Publication number: 20230134154
Abstract: An embodiment may respond to different weather profiles and market conditions within a controlled environment agricultural system, which may include one or more power consuming and environment controlling systems. Different market demands and prices may be used to influence which plants are grown and when they should be harvested. The growing process may be altered based on market demand, which may call for a varietal to be harvested at a delayed time or may require some other parameters to be optimized. A control unit may identify criticality of and power consumption by the systems and may compare those with the current cost of power. The control unit may analyze the cost of adjusting power to systems and the cost of powering those systems during a specified period of time. A weather profile may be forecasted which can be used to identify which systems to power or when to store energy.
