  • Publication number: 20200310862
Abstract: A method may include determining a threshold quantity of attempts to optimistically perform a first transaction operating data stored in a database. The threshold quantity of attempts may be determined based on an expected workload of the first transaction and/or a workload at the database. The first transaction may be performed optimistically including by tracking cache lines accessed by the first transaction and detecting, based on a second transaction writing to a cache line accessed by the first transaction, a conflict between the first transaction and the second transaction. If the first transaction is not successful performed after the threshold quantity of attempts to optimistically perform the first transaction, the first transaction may be performed in a fallback mode including by acquiring a lock to prevent the second transaction from accessing a same data in the database as the first transaction. Related systems and articles of manufacture are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20200309911
Abstract: A method of determining a temporal position of a received signal within a sample series is disclosed. The method includes sampling a sensor at a sampling frequency to generate the sample series. A matched filter set of matched filters is applied to the sample series to generate a matched filter correlation set of matched filter correlations, wherein impulse responses of respective matched filters correspond to a template signal at the sampling frequency of the sensor shifted by a sub-interval shift. The matched filter correlations are evaluated to determine a received signal sub-interval shift. The temporal position of the received signal within the sample series is determined based on at least the received signal sub-interval shift.

  • Publication number: 20200312430
Abstract: Systems and techniques for monitoring, predicting and/or alerting for census periods in medical inpatient units are presented. A system can perform a first machine learning process to learn patterns in patient flow data related to a set of patient identities and a set of operations associated with a set of medical inpatient units. The system can also perform a second machine learning process to detect abnormalities associated with the patterns in the patient flow data. Furthermore, the system can determine patient census data associated with a prediction for a total number of patient identities in the set of medical inpatient units during a period of time based on the patterns and the abnormalities. The system can also generate an alert for a user interface in response to a determination that the patient census data satisfies a defined criterion.
