Publication number: 20250131278Abstract: A method includes defining, using a first neural network, and based on a plurality of inputs, a first state associated with (1) an entity and (2) a first node from a plurality of nodes included in a reinforcement learning model. The reinforcement learning model determines, based on a reward, (1) a second state associated with a second node and (2) an indication of an action associated with a transition from the first state to the second state. The method also includes generating, using a second neural network, an implementation of the action based on the first state, the second state, and the indication of the action. In response to the implementation of the action being transmitted to the entity, a success metric, determined based on an outcome of the implementation of the action, is received. A third state associated with the entity is determined based on the success metric.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2023Publication date: April 24, 2025Inventors: Matthew MILLEN, Srinath SRIDHAR, Thomas TOBIN

Publication number: 20060237444Abstract: A current sensor for installation on a conductor without breaking the conductor may include an insulating base having a conductor supporting portion and a conductive coil disposed within an outer surface of the insulating base. A magnetically permeable conductor retaining member includes a portion that passes through the coil and is secured to the insulating base. The retaining member defines a conductor receiving aperture portion with the aperture portion being disposed adjacent the conductor supporting portion of the insulating base. With a conductor positioned within the aperture portion, the conductor is secured by the retaining member to the conductor receiving portion of the insulating base and a substantially continuous permeable path is formed by the conductor retaining member about the conductor.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2006Publication date: October 26, 2006Inventors: Michael Ennis, Thomas Tobin

Publication number: 20050043288Abstract: A chemically marked procaine penicillin is provided as an antibiotic which can be distinguished from procaine used for anesthetic purposes. A preferred embodiment provides a procaine penicillin molecule wherein the procaine portion of the molecule comprises one or more substituted deuterium atoms in place of hydrogen atoms typically found in procaine penicillin. The resulting non-radioactive isotope can be easily identified via mass spectrometry as being distinct from any naturally occurring isotope, without negatively impacting the pharmacological nature of the drug itself. An alternative embodiment of the invention provides a method of marking the procaine penicillin through the substitution of various other isotopes in place of their naturally occurring counterparts. Methods of detection of the marked procaine penicillin molecule are also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2004Publication date: February 24, 2005Inventor: Thomas Tobin

Patent number: 6718271Abstract: A fault detection apparatus for use in an electrical distribution network to distinguish normal network operations from various network faults. Pre-event and post-vent signal patterns are compared and analyzed to produce an event characteristic which distinguishes the faulted feeder and the faulted phase. The characteristic also allows for discrimination between the various events and controls network response accordingly.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2000Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Electricity Supply BoardInventor: Patrick Thomas Tobin
