Publication number: 20220010607Abstract: An actuation system for passenger seating has first actuating means for actuating a door from an open state to a closed state, and second actuating means for actuating the door from the closed state to the open state. The first actuating means may comprise a spring and allows movement of the door from the closed state to the open state. The second actuating is power-operated. The door can be opened and closed automatically by the user while still being operable manually, e.g. in the event of an emergency. This provides a premium feel without giving rise to safety concerns.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2021Publication date: January 13, 2022Applicant: Thompson Aero Seating Limited AddressInventors: Jonathan McGreevy, Thomas Trail

Patent number: 8707606Abstract: A detachable rail platform adaptable for selective and secure mounting to a weapon's rear iron sight assembly, the rear iron sight assembly having a sight base and a sight guard. The detachable rail platform includes a body having forward and rearward portions. The body further includes a rail portion and is positionable to envelop the rear iron sight assembly. A first clamp assembly is selectively engageable with the sight base at a predetermined position. A second clamp assembly is selectively engageable with the sight guard. Upon engagement of the first and second clamp assemblies to the sight base and the sight guard respectively, the rail platform is selectively and securely mounted to the weapon.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 2012Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Inventor: Thomas Trail Hoel

Patent number: 7861635Abstract: An ambidextrous charging handle for a firearm consists of an oblong handle having a crossbar section. A cavity is formed in the oblong handle and includes a slotted portion. A longitudinal central shaft extends generally perpendicularly from the crossbar section of the oblong handle and terminates in a bolt hook at a distal end. A pivotable latch in the cavity includes a latch cam portion and a latch hook. A plunger has a plunger cam portion and is slidably disposed in the slotted portion of the cavity. A biasing element urges the latch hook toward the central shaft. Slidable movement of the plunger in the slotted portion of the cavity, against the bias of the biasing element, urges the cam portion of the plunger against the latch cam portion, thereby pivoting the latch and urging the latch hook away from the central shaft.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2010Date of Patent: January 4, 2011Inventor: Thomas Trail Hoel

Patent number: 7832322Abstract: An ambidextrous charging handle for a firearm consists of two separate assemblies, these being an oblong handle that contains a latch mechanism and a central shaft member. The parts are joined together by a combination of the latch mechanism and alignment grooves in the central shaft member interacting with a locating flange on the handle, and a pair of retaining and pivoting connectors that secure the latch to the handle and the central shaft member. The latch mechanism includes cam activation via a retention relief cut acting against a fixed retention and pivot connector. The second point of retention for the assembly is via a second retaining connector that transmits the retraction force applied to the handle on one end of the latch and to the central shaft member through the interconnection of the second combination retention and pivot connector on the proximal end of the latch body.Type: GrantFiled: May 3, 2010Date of Patent: November 16, 2010Inventor: Thomas Trail Hoel

Patent number: 7707921Abstract: An ambidextrous charging handle for a Stoner-type firearm. The charging handle comprises two separate assemblies, these being an oblong handle that contains a latch assembly and a central shaft member. The parts are joined together by a compound pivoting arrangement in which a combination of the latch assembly and alignment grooves in the central shaft member interacting with slidingly engage a locating flange on the oblong handle, and a pair of pivoting connectors that secure the latch assembly to the oblong handle and the central shaft member independently from one another. The latch assembly includes cam activation via a retention relief cut acting against a fixed minor pivot connector.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2008Date of Patent: May 4, 2010Inventor: Thomas Trail Hoel

Patent number: 7308967Abstract: A sound suppressor for a firearm for reducing sound and flash levels upon the discharge of a firearm comprises a cylindrical housing, a proximal end cap with means for attachment to a firearm and to the cylindrical housing, a distal end cap with means for attachment to the housing, and a plurality of baffles positioned within the housing and between the proximal end and distal end caps of the suppressor. A separate cylindrical spacer element is positioned between the proximal end cap of the suppressor and the first baffle. This spacer provides axial positioning of the baffles within the cylindrical housing of the suppressor. The distal end cap of the suppressor is provided with a concentric circular hole or aperture for the projectile to pass through the end of the suppressor.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2005Date of Patent: December 18, 2007Assignee: Gemini Technologies, Inc.Inventor: Thomas Trail Hoel
