  • Publication number: 20230281486
Abstract: System and method use an engineering software tool to construct a graphical design of an industrial system for a design project and an artificial intelligence (AI) module integrated with the engineering tool to classify functionality of components for a current design project using a trained machine learning-based model. The AI module receives a knowledge graph for the current project based on data associated with the graphical design. The knowledge graph represents an ontology for a set of elements and element relationships respectively, representative of system components. The AI module identifies a functionality for each knowledge graph node based on the classifier model, clusters knowledge graph nodes according to identified functionality, and generates functionality-based recommendations based on the clusters in response to user queries. Compliance validation of the design data to regulation standards and policy is performed at the component level by an inference engine.

  • Publication number: 20230273601
Abstract: An engineering system and method of orchestrating engineering software for a factory automation environment are disclosed. The engineering system includes a message-broker configured to access and update a knowledge base based on operation of at least one of a plurality of engineering software. The plurality of engineering software is configured to generate and/or operate using engineering-data associated with at least one of design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the factory automation environment. The message-broker is configured to convert the engineering-data into messages recognizable by the plurality of engineering software and the knowledge base. At least one Graphical User Interface communicatively coupled to the message-broker is configured to enable access to the engineering-data via the message-broker, whereby at least one engineering software is configured to initiate actions in the factory automation environment based on the messages.

  • Patent number: 10061874
Abstract: A method for monitoring a process and/or production plant, which includes a plurality of components and which is planned using a plurality of engineering systems, includes a step of providing first result data pertaining to at least one portion of the plurality of components using a first of the plurality of engineering systems, and second result data pertaining to at least one portion of the plurality of components using a second of the plurality of engineering systems. The method also includes a step of extracting topology data, which describe an arrangement of the plurality of components within the process and/or automation plant, and operating data for the plurality of components from the first and second result data. The method further includes creating a model for the process and/or production plant by using the topology data and the operating data. Also disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out the method.
