Abstract: A system for providing support to a user, the system comprising a server, the server communicatively coupled to a number of mobile devices, in which the server receives a number of sets of voice messages and configuration data from the mobile devices and causes the voice messages and configuration data to be routed to a number of support providers. A method of providing support to a user, the method comprising receiving a data packet from a mobile device containing a voice message and appended user specific configuration data, the voice message containing a service request from the user; routing the voice message and appended user specific configuration data to a customer service provider; and responding to the user's service request.

Abstract: A content sharing and collaborative computing environment is provided. In an illustrative implementation, the content sharing and collaboration environment comprises a computing environment capable of cooperating with at least one computing application operating on a cooperating computing environment, and a content sharing computing application residing on the computing environment alone to provide access to one or more cooperating computing environments to content for sharing.

Abstract: A brush arrangement on an electric machine, wherein the brush arrangement includes a carbon brush; a brush sleeve having a use position and a safety position, wherein the brush sleeve holds the carbon brush and is fixable on the housing of the electric machine in the use position of the brush sleeve; and a catcher to lock the brush sleeve in the safety position when the brush sleeve leaves the use position.

Abstract: Systems and methods for performing computer diagnostics are provided. In this regard, a representative method includes: using a browser of the target machine to communicate with a server; downloading executable instructions to the target machine from the server; analyzing the target machine using the executable instructions; and automatically uninstalling, by the target machine, the executable instructions from the target machine responsive to determining that communication with the server via the browser has changed state.

Abstract: A data processing method for introducing an asset-backed fixed-income security that will function as a master real currency unit with a constant value. The method consists of the steps of tracking by means of a digital computer: 1) the flow of quantitative data generated by originating financial instruments denominated in a real currency unit and amortized with a real rate of interest; 2) pooling the real financial instruments for the purpose of establishing a tax conduit to issue asset-backed securities; and 3) the flow of quantitative data generated by using structured financing, such that the conduit issues a class of regular certificates and a residual class of certificates; and then denominating Class “A” certificates in a master real currency unit which can then be used by the holders to represent and transfer purchasing power in a constant monetary unit.

Abstract: A program checks for installed printers, asks the users to select printers to be tested, and then proceeds to test for communications with the printer, print spooling and driver integrity as well as the driver's appropriateness for the operating system and for language and also whether newer and more current drivers are available. A report is then presented to the user indicating the status of the printer and, if appropriate, offering the user one click installation of a repaired, more appropriate, or updated driver.

Abstract: A method of operating a computer including initiating an operating system boot process utilizing critical files stored in associated standard locations on a first peripheral device. After a successful boot, files critical to the standard operating system boot process are copied from the standard locations to a boot image residing on the first peripheral device. The computer can optionally boot from the boot image during a subsequent operating system boot process.

Abstract: An automated method, system, and computer program for troubleshooting the inability of programs installed upon two computers interconnected by wired or wireless linkages to share or manipulate sharable information includes the following steps: On a first computer, tests are performed to see if hardware or software elements on that computer and essential to sharing or manipulating sharable information is properly installed or configured and also to see if information can actually be sent between the two computers; then, if possible, testing is initiated or performed to see if hardware or software elements on the second computer essential to sharing or manipulating sharable information are also properly installed or configured; and then the results of this testing is reported.

Abstract: A method is provided for enabling a support program to provide services using imported administrative rights on a client computer for a user without administrative rights. The method includes the operation of creating a global administrative account on a domain server for a computer network. In addition, the support program can be activated on the client computer. A further operation is creating a process with administrative rights from the support program using the global administrator account on the domain server. The support services enabled with administrative rights can then to be provided for the client computer using the process created with administrative rights.

Abstract: A method and system gather information to facilitate the remote support of devices installed on a computer. For example, an exemplary method comprises first installing an information harvester and a formatter onto the computer. These are then used to identify and test the devices and to collect information about the devices and the testing. Then at least some of the collected information is formatted for display to the user and presentation to a support specialist. The formatted information is then displayed as part of a user display also having provision whereby a user may enter additional comments about device problems into the user display. If a user so chooses, the user comments may be collected, then the combined formatted collected information and the collected user comments are sent to a support specialist by means of a network transport mechanism such as e-mail, TCP, or the like.
