Abstract: An improved process for the hydration of C2-C5 olefins to the corresponding alcohols via heterogeneous reactive extraction with ion exchange resin catalysts is provided. The improvements are based on the application of a structured catalytic packing, a simultaneous product extraction in multiple condensed phases for enhancement of the overall alcohol production rate and a simplified product purification procedure.

Abstract: An antenna arrangement for transmitting and receiving electromagnetic signals includes a flat carrier substrate made of a dielectric material, a first conducting track applied to a surface of the carrier substrate, a second conducting track applied to an other surface of the carrier substrate. The first conducting track includes at one end a point of contact to gather or inject signals and a first dipole at the opposite end. The second conducting track includes at one end a point of contact to gather or inject the signals and a second dipole at the opposite end. The first and the second dipoles form a crossed dipole. The antenna arrangement may be disposed on a glazing.

Abstract: The present invention provides genetic markers on human chromosome 19 that are associated with a beneficial response to interferon alpha (IFN-?). These IFN-? response markers arc useful, inter alia, to identify patients who are most likely to benefit from treatment with IFN-? pharmaceutical compositions and drug products, in methods of treating patients having a disease susceptible to treatment with an IFN-?, and in methods for selecting the most appropriate therapy for such patients.
