  • Patent number: 4043787
Abstract: In glassware forming apparatus the reciprocation of a transfer carriage between two operating positions is effected by a cylinder and piston device in which the traverse of the piston is progressively cushioned at the ends of the piston stroke. Members, which are slidably mounted in the piston and protrude from it, close exhaust outlets in an end wall of the cylinder when the piston is at different predetermined distances from the end wall, and these members are positioned in the piston by the action of the end wall for similarly co-operating with corresponding exhaust outlets in the opposite end wall of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4010021
Abstract: An individual section of a multiple section glassware forming machine is shown wherein each such section preferably includes three stations performing separate and sequential operations in forming articles of glassware. Each such section may be adapted for "single gob" or "multiple gob" use whereby each station in the section performs its operation in forming either a single article of glassware or multiple articles at the same time. The section shown is adapted for "double gob" operation. Its first station is utilized in forming (by overhead pressing plungers) two parisons in upright parison molds. Its second station is utilized to further form the parisons either in intermediate blow molds or by suspending the parisons for a re-heat. Its third station is utilized to blow the parisons into the final shape of the glassware article being made.

  • Patent number: 3938777
Abstract: Three flow control valves are described, each of which incorporates a sleeve having a double conical valve seat and at least one frusto-conical valve member mounted on a support stem in a valve bore between first and second ports. In the first and second flow control valves, a restricted flow of fluid in one direction and substantially unrestricted flow in an opposite direction between the ports is obtained. The third control valve is provided with two valve members, and controlled flow rates in both directions between the ports are obtained. Any one of the control valves is readily converted into either of the other control valves and a total of only seventeen different parts is needed to construct any one of the valves.
