  • Patent number: 8433494
Abstract: A method for controlling the speed of a vehicle having a regenerative or active braking capacity when the vehicle is traveling downhill using a cruise control system on the vehicle. When brake pedal is applied and the cruise control is set, the vehicle is put into a controlled braking mode. The cruise control system controls are then used inversely to the normal operation where decreases in vehicle speed are provided by applying motoring torque. For the inversed cruise control, increasing the vehicle speed is prohibited by applying more regenerative braking torque.

  • Patent number: 8013043
Abstract: A hazy polyester film with a thickness in the range from 10 to 100 ?m including thermoplastic polyester as the main constituent and barium sulfate with a particle size in the range from 0.1 to 0.5 ?m, expressed as d50, in an amount in the range from 5 to 25% by weight. The films exhibit a transparency, measured to ASTM-D 1003, of greater than 56% and a haze in the range from 40 to 95%. Owing to their particular optical properties in the form of high transparency with simultaneous scattering action in the form of volume scatter, the film is suitable particularly for use for internal and external window glazing, for interior paneling in bright rooms, for exhibition construction, in vehicles and buildings, in the lighting sector and in shopfitting and shelving.

  • Patent number: 7830235
Abstract: An inductor array that includes a plurality of inductors where adjacent inductors share a core piece and thus a flux path to reduce the size and weight of the array. In one embodiment, the shared core pieces are formed as back-to-back U-shaped members defining an indented region at the center of the core piece. In another embodiment, a plurality of small block-shaped center core pieces in each inductor defines a plurality of gaps therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20100178512
Abstract: A process for modifying the surface of an inorganic or organic substrate with strongly adherent nanoparticles is described, providing to the surface modified substrate durable effects like hydrophobicity, hydrophilicity, electrical conductivity, magnetic properties, flame retardance, color, adhesion, roughness, scratch resistance, UV-absorbance, antimicrobial properties, antifouling properties, antiprotein properties, antistatic properties, antifog properties, release properties. In this process, an optional first step a) a low-temperature plasma, ozonization, high energy irradiation, corona discharge or a flame is caused to act on the inorganic or organic substrate, and in a second step b) one or more defined nanoparticles or mixtures of defined nanoparticles with monomers, containing at least one ethylenically unsaturated group, or solutions, suspensions or emulsions of the afore-mentioned substances, are applied, preferably at normal pressure, to the inorganic or organic substrate.
