  • Patent number: 11660486
Abstract: The invention comprises a fire extinguisher and method, wherein the fire extinguisher has a sealable high-pressure container that forms a hollow interior connected by a valve to an environment external to the said container. The said container holds at a high pressure at room temperature a composition of liquid carbon dioxide and a non-hydrate, hydrophobic, cyclic organo-siloxane compound, the said compound further having a freezing point of at least ?20° C. at one atmosphere. Upon release of the combination to the environment external to the container, the compound further produces a clathrate. In at least one embodiment of the invention, both the clathrate and the non-hydrate, hydrophobic, cyclic organo-siloxane compound have firefighting conductive properties.

  • Patent number: 8715440
Abstract: One possible embodiment of the invention could be a methodology of preventing an existing crack or break in the vehicle windshield from becoming larger comprising of the steps, providing a laminate with a UV light-permeable barrier film having least one side to which UV light curable adhesive is applied to it, a peel-able cover reversibly applied over the adhesive; providing a windshield with at least a small crack or chip in its surface; removing the peel-able cover from the adhesive; applying the barrier film to the windshield in a manner to cover the crack or chip so that the adhesive comes in contact with the windshield; and transmitting UV light through the film to the adhesive to cure it into a rigid substrate connection between the barrier film and the windshield that resists various forces acting upon the windshield that would otherwise increase the size of crack or chip.

  • Publication number: 20070209749
Abstract: A method and means for protecting a windshield from further damage from existing cracks or breaks due to stone or other hard object impacts on windshields. An optically clear impact resistant, high tensile strength barrier film is placed directly over the crack or break in the windshield. The barrier is preferably a clear polymeric film or clear multiples of film, but could be opaque, rubber, plastic or metal. The barrier is placed on the glass surface and in contact with the center of the crack or break. The size of the barrier is selected to eliminate the higher incidence of continued damage to the crack or break to the peripheral area. The barrier should be combined with a clear pressure backed adhesive with UV sunlight blocking ingredients to reduce degeneration. A kit can be assembled with the elements needed to place the barrier on a windshield. The barrier can also be applied in fluid form, which achieves a film.
