Abstract: A system and method for consolidating and blinding electronic medical records in which a plurality of confidential electronic medical records including patient identification data and medical data are stored in two or more electronic medical record databases provided by two or more medical record database providers, and one or more consolidators having access to the plurality of confidential electronic medical records receive data requests. Consolidators having access to responsive data issue a quotation and summary of data to the requester, and, in response to an order from the requester, blind electronic medical records containing the requested data to omit patient identification data and transfer the blinded medical data to a consolidator database. When payment for the requested data is confirmed, the blinded medical data is transferred from the consolidator to the requester.

Abstract: A system for facilitating commercial exchange of packages of electronic health records, including practice nodes in communication with one another via a peer to peer network, each practice node having a plurality of electronic medical records including medical data and patient identification data, a digital marketplace server including software for receiving a query for medical data from a user and identifying practice nodes having the medical data responsive to the query, software executing on the practice nodes for generating summaries of the medical data responsive to the query, blinding the summaries and transferring the blinded summaries to the digital marketplace server, software executing on the server for displaying the blinded summaries and receiving an order for the medical data described in the blinded summaries, and software executing on the practice nodes for blinding electronic medical records containing the ordered medical data and transferring the blinded medical data to the user.

Abstract: A protocol for transfer of medical radiographic image series that provides for transmission of image files in a non-serial order, to provide for transmission of image files where the images most likely to be useful for diagnosis are transmitted first. Under a default protocol the midpoint image of each series of images in a patient study is transmitted prior to endpoint or other images in the series. The default protocol can either build out the image series from the midpoint image to the endpoint image, or it can transmit the midpoint image of a series, followed by the endpoint images of a series, followed by successive sub-midpoint images between the endpoints and the midpoint image. The default protocol also transfers each image with a partial pixel depth prior to transmission of the entire series with full pixel depth. The receiving diagnostic physician can override the default protocol and select desired images for immediate transfer.

Abstract: An integrated film and filmless image display system is provided comprising a film image display unit having a film viewer for displaying a plurality of film images, a computer system having a filmless image display unit for displaying a plurality of filmless images, and a controller for controlling display of either the film images or the filmless images, wherein either the plurality of film images or the plurality of filmless images are indexed relative to the other.
