  • Method and system for transitioning graphic elements of a network interface description document

    Abstract: A method and system for viewing interface description documents, such as Web pages, performs a transition between a first graphic element and a second graphic element which are displayed according to the interface description document being viewed. To allow proper display of the graphic elements over a background, a transparency mask for each of the first and second graphic elements is generated and used in the image transition process. A display image, which is drawn on a video display for viewing, is initialized to contain the first graphic element. During the transition, selected pixels of the display image are replaced by corresponding pixels of the second graphic element over multiple frames until the display image has changed to contain the complete second graphic element.
