  • Patent number: 8868108
Abstract: Server access is provided to a wireless apparatus via a wireless network. A message is received containing a service request. The service and sever capable of servicing the service request is determined. The service is requested from the server and a reply is received. The reply is formatted for communication over the wireless network and sent. Location dependent information may also be requested with a wireless apparatus including a global positioning device and a two-way wireless communication device. Such an apparatus can “know” its global location and therefore can request information dependent on that location. The apparatus receives signals from a global positioning system and calculates a location. The calculated location is included in the service request sent over the wireless network.

  • Patent number: 7801976
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes capturing service properties in one or more service process profiles, receiving a request for service, and interrogating the request and possible services by reviewing service properties captured in the service process profiles. A computer architecture includes a service manage profile and a service meter profile. A computer infrastructure includes a service component including a service-oriented architecture and a serviceware component including a manager for interpreting the service-oriented architecture.

  • Patent number: 7281011
Abstract: A data structure and computer-readable medium are provided for storing data describing each technology standard within a standard operating environment of a technology architecture, a corresponding product standard utilized to implement the technology standard, and a technology lifecycle stage for the product standard. The data structure may include data fields containing data identifying a particular technology segment within an information technology architecture, data identifying a technology service within the identified technology segment, data identifying a technology standard for the technology service, for identifying a particular product standard utilized to implement the technology standard, data identifying a vendor for the product standard, and data identifying a technology lifecycle stage for the product standard. The data structure may also be expressed using the extensible markup language.
