    Abstract: An integral deaerator for a heat pipe steam condenser has a main steam duct connected to a heat pipe steam condenser duct by a riser. The heat pipe steam condenser duct is inclined slightly toward the riser and a weir is positioned at the connection between the riser and heat pipe steam condenser duct to prevent condensate from draining directly into the riser. The heat pipe steam condenser duct has a drain for draining a condensate from within the heat pipe steam condenser duct to a distribution header for distributing the condensate within the riser. Steam is provided to the main steam duct for condensation in the heat pipe steam condenser and while in transit, the steam heats and deaerates the condensate. At least one drain boot is connected to the bottom of the main steam duct for draining deaerated condensate.

    Abstract: An arrangement for uniformly distributing a liquid slurry across a flow path at a selected level of a housing. This invention incorporates a plurality of supply headers located adjacent the housing at that level of the housing for supplying the liquid slurry to the housing. A plurality of feeder lines extend from each of these supply headers across the flow path at this level of the housing. The feeder lines from one such supply header are arranged so as to be vertically displaced directly atop the feeder lines from an adjacent supply header. Thus, the feeder lines from the separate supply headers extend in a parallel, in-line relationship one atop the other thereby reducing the blockage of the flow path. Nozzles extend in a staggered fashion from these feeder lines and are off-set with respect to each other. The staggering of the nozzles is provided so that the spray from the nozzles coupled to the upper feeder lines do not impinge directly on the structure of the lower feeder lines.

    Abstract: A device for deflecting a liquid slurry flow in a housing away from an inlet flue conveying hot flue gas to the housing, the device having an upper surface and communicating with the housing at an inner wall of the housing. An inlet awning having a bottom portion horizontally extends into the housing from an upper surface of the inlet flue. An inclined top portion is connected to the bottom portion and an inner wall of the housing, the top portion extending upwardly at an incline from the bottom portion to the inner wall of the housing, the top portion having sufficient area to collect liquid slurry in excess of that required to achieve instant cooling and humidification of the hot flue gas, the top and bottom portions forming a tip at an area where the top portion is connected to the bottom portion.
