Publication number: 20250093083Abstract: Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a cold exchange system. An example includes: thermal energy exchangers connected to a refrigerant pipe system; and a control system comprising: an orifice adjusting system including a valve and an actuator, the valve comprising a flow chamber with an adjustable orifice in the pipe; a position sensor to sense a position of the adjustable orifice and/or the actuator and generate a signal indicative of the sensed position; and a controller. The orifice adjusting system adjusts the adjustable orifice in response to a control signal. The control system uses a software-wise change of a characteristic curve of the orifice adjusting system. The position sensor operates using a static measurement principle. The controller compares the signal to a set position of the adjustable orifice and generates the control signal based on the comparison.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2024Publication date: March 20, 2025Applicant: Siemens Schweiz AGInventors: Andreas Jacubasch, Kamil Podjuk, Thomas Walch, Siyuan Wang

Patent number: 8104321Abstract: A system for reducing the diameter of a stent comprises a stent contracting assembly. The assembly comprises a plurality of blades, which define a diameter reduction chamber. The chamber has an open diameter configuration and a closed diameter configuration. The plurality of blades comprises active blades and floating blades, wherein each active blade is engaged to an actuation mechanism. The actuation mechanism is constructed and arranged to move each active blade from the open diameter configuration to the closed diameter configuration. Each floating blade is moved from the open diameter configuration to the closed diameter configuration only as a result of the movement of the active blades.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2010Date of Patent: January 31, 2012Assignee: Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc.Inventors: Gabriel Sorbrino Serrano, David McMorrow, Dennis Aamoth, Bruce Asmus, Thomas Walch

Patent number: 7793532Abstract: A protective sheet loader may comprise a first roller, a second roller, a sheet of material spanning between the first and second rollers, and a loading mechanism. A portion of the sheet of material may be loaded into the crimping chamber of an apparatus for reducing the size of a medical device. A medical device may be placed within the crimping chamber such that the sheet of material forms a barrier between the walls of the crimping chamber and the medical device and prevents cross-contamination between the medical device and the crimping device. After a crimping step is completed, the medical device and the contaminated portion of the sheet of material may be removed from the crimping chamber, and a clean portion of the sheet of material may be loaded into the crimping chamber.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2008Date of Patent: September 14, 2010Assignee: Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc.Inventors: Bruce Asmus, Dennis Aamoth, Thomas Walch
